I miss having free time for hobbies etc
I thought it would be sleep and nights out, but I get enough sleep and have grown out of nights out.0 -

I thought I would post on this thread, to let you all know that it does get better. All those things you miss they come back again, I have emerged out the other side, the kids no longer need me to 'mother' them anymore, so my life is now my own again, it took some getting used to, not checking in at home if I want to be late at work, not having to have a meal ready at 5/6 o'clock, I can eat at any time I like, I can even miss a meal and no one is screaming blue murder that they are starving. My kids are now 29 and 25 and can look after themselves, it is nice to have a civilised meal and drink, knowing it won't be interrupted, the problem I have now, is my niece has two little ones and they come to visit occasionally which is lovely, but I had forgotten just how tiring it is with little ones in the house. My two are showing no signs of having their own just yet and I am secretly pleased about it to be honest.
I will be a grandmother one day, but there is no rush as far as I am concerned.

Been here for a long time and don't often post0 -
            Now that I have a five-month old I miss...
Popping out for ten minutes without it being a military operation
A tidy lounge/bath free of toys and a bath seat
Wearing my hair down (her favourite thing is to pull it!)
Drinking a hot cup of tea
Weekends meaning a lie in!
On the plus side when we went on holiday last week we made it to breakfast every day because little miss had us up early - that's never happened before!0 -
I would have said just to have 5 minutes of quiet where you don't have to talk, listen or do anything - then my youngest started school last week and I had a day of work when there was no one else in the house - it was far too quiet and I hated it0

I was a Dad at 20, again at 22 and then for a third time at 29.
Now I'm 43 and I don't miss a single thing from my childless days.
If anything, I wish I'd had many, many more and of course I've got the joys of being a Grandad to look forward to.0
