I feel letters to the BPA and DVLA coming on myself ;)
  • Bit of an update via FOI.
Since 2008 when CPP took over my work place 4602 tickets have been issued.
    3002 have been paid
Workplace takes 50% of the the fine..

Now I've asked some more very specific questions based on payments, debt collection etc. Awaiting a response on that one

If the workplace take 50% of the speculative invoice (NOT A FINE!!) then it can hardly be a genuine pre-estimate of loss and thus is against the BPA Ltd Code of Practice and also against the law.

Complain loud and strong - BPA Ltd; DVLA; Trading Standards.
  • Sorry yeah habit calling it a fine... rather than payment for a contract I didn't enter in to or agree with CPP.
@FolkieDave - a little confused by what you mean by pre-estimate of loss. I understand the phrase just not how its against regulations?

speculative invoice was £40 now settle or boys come round option is £80... and no they aren't getting a penny
  • And now a follow up.
I was specifically wanting to know how many cases had ended up in a court action? 0 (Zero)

How many are currently pending court action? 55

How many have been passed to a debt recovery organisation? 277

That is out of 4200 tickets 3000 of them have been paid.
  • Notice legal proceedings. Icc legal services letter.

ICC are debt collectors, not solicitors. They can't take you to court, only the PPC or landowner can.

Write back to them 'debt denied, cease and desist, further contact will be considered harassment and further action may be taken against them'.

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

And the chances of CPP taking you to court are pretty remote. Whilst there are no guarantees, this list of PPCs who gave done court might give you a good idea of who has been litigious in the past.

Although a little dated now, this is the most recent list I am aware of - but at least it is an indicator.
