be aware everone who is looking to buy someting from simply electrnocs. The web makes u believe it is a genuine uk websit with a £ signa dn uk customer helpline with a very good deals but ever wonder why is little cheap than other genuine website because they are based on china and is a chinese company. They dont even have a headquater in here and pick up the phone through some of their feriend leaving in uk. They directly put you to the HK line when you call uk no thats the reason you have to wait minimun 40 min just listening to their crap music. I have this awful experience witht the,. I though it was a genuine website nd bought a camera but unfortunately i had to wait nearly a months. they do anything to decieve anyone just to get a little amount of bucks. I am tellling you infact i promise you, you will regret it if you buy from them. I came to this length going to different website just to warn people how crap they are in their customer service. I am now getting my money returned but also not sure if i will ever get.

Lots of these websites now...
usually have no UK address on Contact page, and looking at T&C state import duties not payable by you. Probably they undervalue or misdescribe goods to avoid 20% vat and other import duties.
The T&C also usually have a HK address.
Saying this, quite a few people do get their goods without paying extra duty, some get held at customs, some never arrive.
Pot luck.0 -
I thinking saying it's a scam is over-egging it a bit. Certainly they don't advertise they are Hong-Kong based, but the information is easy to find if you look for it. It says on the "Shipping" page deliveries normally take up to 13 working days (the best part of three weeks), which seems to tie in with your experience. You also do seem to have got the camera you ordered.
Where they are based has no bearing on call waiting times, that's not having enough staff to deal with the call volumes.
It's correct to be wary of ordering from an overseas site like this one, but then tbh shoppers should take precautions when ordering from any site, UK based or not.0 -

In general when you purchase online, you need to do your homework. Like brick-and-mortar stores, publicity about an on-line store also ironically spreads through word-of-mouth. The number of products being offered, the type of deal, the contact address, the forum posts, the returns policy, the payment policy will all guide you on the genuineness or otherwise of the company. Online purchasing is not without its own share of trials and tribulations. Be careful, there are many out there you would be wanting to part you and your money. The old maxim of buyers beware still rules.0

OP was surely after this:
http://www.simplyelectronics.net/mainproduct.php?pid=22653
As their enter key no longer functions?
Bit steep for a basic keyboard.
Scan or Dabs would probably do a better deal, and they're UK based.0 -
Ordered a digital camera at the end of February. The order tracking on the website kept me informed of progress. I eventually received the item about 3 weeks later.
It was exactly as ordered, except that I had to change the language on the camera display from Chinese to English. It even came with a UK plug for the charger.
The item was delivered from Amsterdam by a well-known courier and I was given the tracking number by Simply Electronics. Looking at the delivery code on the label I suspect it was flown from Hong Kong to Amsterdam.
The camera was £70 cheaper than in John Lewis. If you want to save money you have to be prepared to wait around 3 weeks for delivery and expect something like the default Chinese language on the display (which is easily changed).0 -
Did you pay import duty and courier charge.

1) are not fused
2) don't have sleeved pins
3) have pins that are too close to the edge of the plug (so you can get a shock as grip the plug)
4) are not properly wired inside (and can cause the plug to melt)
5) have tops that are not secured properly, so they fall off (or come off when you grap them) exposing live connections underneath
6) have various things stamped on them "CE", "BS approved" etc without them ever having been certifed as such.0
