Its good to have these things agreed. When DH was ill he was too far gone to say much, but the two things he made clear on was that he wanted our wedding song at his funeral, and what I was to do with the insurance money
I've written down and stuck a letter with a copy of my will, but my mum knows knows the score.
Aren't we all Merry and full of Christmas spirit:eek:
Built DS paper model mosaic train with him although they've lost interest in sticking the mosaic on half way through. They might finish it later.
DD has put the dancing on again, she fell asleep and missed the last couple. So she's put her princess dress on. Just in case
Spare bed stripped, but I forgot to make some tea, never mind. The mattress topper is washed and drying, the blankets can go in next.
Off to find some food for the small folk. They are getting a bit unruly...Bossymoo

Playing freezer tetris here too - my shopping bills have been sky high this week, and I haven't really bought a great deal
Glad to report that DH is in a somewhat better mood today. He has unpacked the pictures and we have decided what is going where - one job for him tomorrow or more likely Tuesday will be to spray a large mirror frame with matt silver (it's currently a rather brash gold) so that it will fit in better in the lounge.
We have now emptied all possible boxes and packing cases from within the main part of the house (a few with garage stuff in them are stashed in the utility, well out of the way) and someone who is moving house in January has just called to collect them. That gives us a huge amount more room to moveand I can even see the bed again in the downstairs bedroom where we shall be sleeping when DD and her family come.
The study bedroom is still WiP but coming along nicely. I can see the bed in there too
I have decided that my great-aunt's antique desk with its chair and my father's revolving bookcase are not needed in this house, so they are still wrapped and will be offered to (1) my children, then (2) my cousins, and if nobody wants them, they will be taken to the local auction house in January. There's nowhere to store them and no point in keeping them.
We are going out to a carol service this evening, so the evening meal will be a late one: a good thing too, as I forgot to put the turkey leg in the SC until 1.00 pm :rotfl:0 -
Aaaarrrrgggghhhh. Kids have messed with tea again, and I have given in
they are eating weetabix, Cheerios and jam on toast
Redone mince pies with short crust. OMG they have gone wrong too. They've all shrunk so the filling has spilt out. Luckily most of them aren't stuck. I used leftover pastry to line a baking dish, topped with the rest of the mincemeat, then topped that with a value range sponge mix. Which does smell fab but then that has all sank in the middle. It was for MIL birthday (tomorrow)
So I'm going on cooking strike. I've told them were just having breakfast from now on.
More bedding washed in prep for guests coming to stay. DW emptied and the reload begun.
Wee ones will be having an early night tonight. Bah humbug. I might have a beer. Now, actually :rotfl:Bossymoo

Go for it bossy I am writing today off too lol I have done nothing but shout today, ds2 has a high temp and has been on my knee all day (which is a fab excuse for the lack of flying)
I think he can come in the kitchen with me while I bake a cake.0 -
Fizz and Bossy - OH was an actor/singer/dancer in a former life and it is the only time since he stopped performing that he can be absolutely certain of the starring role. It has to be a performance people remember, and worthy of a standing ovation. I guess I'd rather think of myself as the director, and I'm very unshowbiz usually. I don't think of it as depressing, mainly because we've already had 20 blissful years together, we're much older than your DH was Bossy, and neither of us has to consider young children.
I've vacuummed around the bits that show and I have absolutely no intention of doing any more other than s/and/s'ing until preparing for OH's birthday party on 4th January. Anyone and everyone is welcome at the Honey Bear Homestead over the next fortnight - the only condition is that they don't look too closely at anything other than the tree, the food and the drink.
The next booking we have is a returning non-thesp who lives on takeaways, sleeps here and is out 16 hours a day working - not one for looking for dust, and a dog-lover, so all the dog fluff will make it feel like home. His room is ready for him so I now have a blissful 13 days of no flying. I might pop in though, just to make sure I'm not missing out on anything.Better is good enough.0 -
Too busy putting things away to post! Once everything is clear then I can start on cleaning.
Tonight though I think I will do some wrapping so as not to be stuck with it at 2am like previous years.'If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need' Marcus Tullius Cicero0 -
3 more mins nosing and I pledge I will go finish my lists for down stairs before my ironing !!!:rudolf:christmas groc challenge:eek::snow_laug
