How can that be? How many had you applied for? How many were you meant to apply for?My advisor emailed me to say i have a 3 week sanction for not applying for enough jobs. Can i appeal. He says i need to reclaim but cant i appeal first.
Haven't people said once you have signed for a period your job search/applications are all signed off.
What period of job search have they sanctioned you for?
I thought sanctions ends and the claim re starts, never heard of a re claim. We’ve had to remove your signature. Please check the Forum Rules if you’re unsure why it’s been removed and, if still unsure, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
You are allowed when signing 2 sick days in 12 months yet I am not sure at all if there is any ruling on attended the WP appointments as to how much sick you could possibly have.
Thats interesting, when I phoned in sick I was told it was 2 sick days within the life of the claim! I went in on that say so, I really struggled, to be fair to the advisor she did keep asking me if I was ok as I sat there trying not be sick over her desk! And again to give her credit she made it as short an appointment as she could.
Does anyone have a link to the 'rules' that apply to job seeking as this is not the first time I have been told something and since found out (via MSE threads) that I have been told incorrect information.0 -

It's not days it's periods. You are allowed 2 sick periods of up to 14 days in any 12 month rolling year. I can't post a link as using my phone0 -
Targets true or false? Latest figures of the number of people claiming JSA has dropped far faster than the jobless total. Draw your own conclusions!0

Luckily I always do an e-mail follow up with a read receipt which confirms it's been read because they usually won't reply. I've printed that off and stuck it in with my reply to them.
That's a good idea but where did you get the email address from? I emailed my first advisor with my CV but then she left..the next one wasn't so helpful! On one occasion, I rang to tell them about an interview but my advisor wasn't there. When I went to claim travel expenses for the interview, they had no record of it. I was also left to work out my bi-weekly signing dates myself - no confirmation of dates...no wonder people make mistakes (even the library sends email reminders when my books are due!). It looks a bit like they are trying to make people fail - or am I just cynical?
The sanctions aren't decided by the local JCP though - they are done by a regional centre.0 -
I went in and filled out a reclaim form, in the meantime will be appealing and writing to mp. If they want me to apply for more jobs they have to say how many otherwise the goalposts will keep changing. How would the advisor like it if the boss said youve not done enough work this week we are docking your pay. You cant live like that.
They couldnt give a !!!! about their own people the government what has it come too.:footie:0
