*We have all channels except movies and sports
*Any time landline calls
*4mg Broadband
£29.95 per month."I did then, what I knew then. And when I knew better, I did better"0 -
Thank you Sugarhunny1 and CharleneUK for your input.
I don't actually know if we get free landline calls to be honest, need to chat to my housemate about the whole thing who I rarely see as we work opposite hours.
I only use the landline when I am phoning the bank or a credit card and that is only ever with freephone numbers as I use my mobile for any others as I always have lots of minutes on that.
We seem to ahve an awful lot of channels but none of us watch them much at all. Personally I would be happy with just the Sport channels and a few music channels but it is the Sport that costs so much. I know that any cost will be split between the 4 of us though.0 -
I have 4mb BB, L TV, Talk Eves We's for £17-50pcm but ends September after negotiating with Telewest last year
I actually cancelled and did my research and got that on 3rd person calling after much discussion
Not looking forward to virgin tbh - don't like them much0 -
Bergy2, did you have to pay a reconnection fee after cancelling? I am assuming that we have talk evenings as well then seeing as this has been mentioned a few times. At this rate I could possibly get rid of my mobile! (maybe not quite!)0

It has been normal in the past to call their retentions dept on 151 and selecting the "thinking of leaving" option and take it from there. In the past it has depended on who picks the phone up at the other end as to what deal if any you get. There was a period when you could get the V+ box, and XL TV, though not including Sports, free calls to landlines 24/7 and 4meg BB for £35 a month.
They seem to like doing bundle offers of £10 a service including Virgin mobile with 100mins and 100 texts for £10 a month.
I was going to suggest getting a Freeview box for Sky Sports News, but the Sky B**s are removing it, Sky News and Sky3 in July and repacing them with Pay Per View channels (sports?)ac's lovechild0 -
Of course, Freeview is another option. I would like the Sports channels though. I would rather have the Sports channels and no music channels if that was the choice.0

A couple of months ago I managed to get XL TV, Basic phone and 10MB line for £30 per month.
Just tried to get a free V+ box but no luck. Anyone managed to get one of these for free? If so what did you say?0 -

The V+ box was origially a Telewest product to improve and compete against Sky+, new to NTL at the time and NTL wanted to push it after the NTL / Telewest merger. There was a long thread about deals which seems to have been moved.
Found it,

Branson has wanted to change the packages to his style, addidng to confusion.ac's lovechild0 -
Found out that the tv package we have is the XL one. Looking at the content on the website, most of the channels that we watch, ie the music ones, only come on XL so if we dropped to L or M then we would lose most of the channels we watch. Typical eh?
To add 4 Sports channels would cost £16.50 extra on the XL package so that is just over £4 each. Not too bad I think but its just annoying that we have so many channels (over 100) and only watch about 10 of them regularly, most of those being music channels. Oh well.0
