  • I decided that the German courses on eBay at £100 were a little bit steep for me so I went to the app store and sign up for free learning apps and then upgraded the one I liked best for £2.99. so when work decide to arrange a course I will already be pre planned.

Yesterday I was very proud of my husband, we are going to celebrate our 10 year wedding anniversary next month. As always he wants a watch ( he has 15 already). We went into Samuels and he found what he wanted. It wasn't supper expensive but he asked if there was movement on the price without prompting by me. We walked out with a lovely watch £25 cheaper.

We have a £25 voucher for a local restaurant which we are going to use on Monday and then on Tuesday we are flying to Italy for a week. I may even get a bit of a tan when practising german on a lounger.

Happy Anniversary and well done to dh on the haggling :T glad you had a nice holiday, where in Italy did you go? I love Italy. All your food sounds delicious. I need to have a bit of a cook up, although the cupboards are rather bare here today.:o

  • Hello

Crumpets we stayed on the Umbria and Tuscany border. It was very rural but it worked well without WiFi to actually switch off your mind and read a book.

Just need 2lb to get to a stone weight so trying to be super good this week. It's been a slow road but at least it is going in the right direction.

Won £15 on a scratch card so need to pay that off the mortgage. I'm hoping for another £500 overpayment this month but it all depends on the credit card which I need to look at ;)

  • I have been bad recently not updating the diary but I have been good with money hardly spending anything that was not necessary. Work has been hectic but Friday saw a good ending to a difficult situation.

Tomorrow we go to london on a half thrift trip for 4 days.

The hotel is not cheap but was purchased from the cash back site and on sale and since i have bought the room it has doubled in price.:D. Stress Co club card bought the train tickets there and back.

We have found a cafe round the corner from the hotel which is considerably cheeper than having breakfast in the hotel at £22 per person.

Monday we are join to the OXO tower for afternoon tea not cheap but i have wanted to go for years. Also 1/2 price bond exhibition tickets.

Tuesday Buckingham palace and some free sights or museum. Found a new bar that I can use my taste card with and also fancy seeing some secret bars.

Wed Tour round the BBC then cheap theatre tickets in the evening.

Thursday Trip down the thames on a speedboat paid for by club card, big ben which was free and the 1/2 price sushi lessons.

Friday we don't have any plans yet.

Fingers crossed weather should be good, just looking forward to having time with hubby.

  • Well I didn't realise it that was this long since I had logged on. Things happened and I kinda forgot about this place sorry. Sadly my mum was diagnosed with Breast Cancer in November and went in to hospital, she is now waiting the results to see if the radio therapy worked.

On a positive note we have been repaying regular chunks and we are now down to 83K, I think that we will make a large overpayment this month of our ISA money. Rates are so rubbish that we have decided to clear it off the mortgage. We are not having a holiday this year so we can clear money off the mortgage, hubby is now 100% committed. So fingers crossed we can we at 70k for the new year. Its a long stretch but we need a target to aim for.
