Well I have made an overpayment so that we are at under 96k. Sadly the car bill is going to be £2,500  but there is nothing we can do about it sadly, it's a new manifold.
Stayed the same at sw but it was not unexpected as it was a weekend of father in laws birthday and he wanted fish and chips and the restaurant didn't serve any non chip options. I had bought a birthday cake that I wouldn't like but my sister in law bought a huge chocolate cake as well and then mother in law also baked muffins and shortbread which I mostly resisted.
Soup for tea cauliflower cheese and butternut squash.

Hi LGP, wow that's a big car bill! I hope that won't set your plans back too much. Well done on the OP, I feel like I have my MFW mojo back a bit, as I felt like I'd lost my motivation somewhere.
Sounds like staying the same at SW was good after a weekend of treats.

Well the car ended up being £1900 which was better than initially expected as the dealership gave us a discount.
I know that if we hadn't gone to the main dealer it would have been cheaper but hubby won't go anywhere else with his baby.
Sadly we have to cut down on the op but I have been able to open a fd savings account. And have set up a dd to build up another savings pot.
Off to a 50th birthday garden party tomorrow, fingers crossed the forecast isn't correct and it will stay dry. It's a work colleague and we have been asked to take our own drink. So it shouldn't be expensive.
I love cats but I wish the neighbours cats would stop leaving me presents in the flower beds does anyone have tips to stop them ?
Work is very very busy and I have been asked to speak about a project that I have been involved in at the all staff meeting. Not sure I want to do it speaking in front of 200 people but feel that I should as I have been asked. Oh I don't know.
Enough of my rambling

I have the same problem and they leave presents all over my lawn . I think the previous occupant had a habit of feeding them, as everytime I arrive home I have several of them waiting for me, literally sitting on the doorstep. I know that one of them (the ringleader) is evil and I think i've stumbled across the feline equivalent of the village of the damned
My only deterrent idea so far involves a motion sensor & sprinkler system, but it might upset the postman.Initial mortgage (Dec 2012) £108,000 3.84%APR MF date Jan 2038

Thank you midnight child I will have a look for one of those luckly the garden at the front of the house is pretty established so there is not much present space.:j
We have two evil cats at the back of the house. I have named them Ronnie and reggie. Mr Lgp has named one thud as this is the noise his car makes when the cat jumps on it.lol
Party was good last night although feeling a little bit delicate this morning due to pxims. It was actually a alddi equavilent.
I went to the chemist yesterday and have two really good finds.
Instead of feminaxxxx ultra I bought a ibuprofen and lysine tablet exactly the same thing but a quarter of the price. It was advertised as a migraine tablet.
Hubby gets really bad hay fever and the branded tablet he would normally use is £6.29 for 7 tablets, the chemist had an unbranded tablet with exactly the same thing at £2.99 for 30 tablets and then on offer at a bogof. We bought 4 packets which should last us for the rest of the season.
Better do some housework as we are out this afternoon.

Nice finds on the tablets! :T
Loving the cat nicknames :rotfl:a penny picker upper. MFW approx 78% to go | FIRE 3 years worth (30% savings rate: now aiming for 40%!) | Normality is a paved road; it's comfortable to walk, but no flowers grow on it | Whatever you're meant to do, do it now. The conditions are always impossible | The only thing you absolutely have to know, is the location of the library0 -

We've had cat problems in the past. We've managed to stop them by using a sonic cat deterrent. It gives off a high pitched noise, that only animals can hear. I think it was about £14.99 on eBay - they seem to work
My dad used to get empty litre cola bottles and fill them with water and dot them round the garden - he swore it kept the cats off. I don't know if it worked, but it looked a bit odd!Early retired - 18th December 2014
