It's easier to break up just before Christmas than it is a couple of weeks before a holiday which is all planned and paid for.Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,
What it may grow to in time, I know not what.

I was single last Christmas for the first time and it was lovely! You will have a wonderful time.
This may sound mean but I didn't have to worry about spending time with anyone else's family, I got to see all the people I loved all day and eat my mum's roast dinner instead of doing one year at my mum's and one year at his (I think nothing beats your own mum's no matter how old you are), I didn't have to buy and wrap presents for his family (from both of us) I also spent the money I would have spent on him on myself.
Got a fella this year, still have dinner at my mum's though :j0 -
Been single for all of my 29 Christmases on this earth!
Its great, I just spend all my money on myself instead0 -
Why refer to it as back to being 'single'??
He was your boyfriend, wasn't he? So you weren't married, hence you were both single i.e. you were still 'Miss'.
Rant over, just don't like 'single' being used instead of 'unattached'!!
Comes the same category as referring to someone you're "just dating" as a partner.I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole
MSE Florida wedding .....no problem0 -

What? As if you would describe yourself as single when you had a boyfriend? If a fella of mine said "oh yeah I am single this Christmas" because we weren't married, he soon flipping would be :rotfl:0 -
Why do people keep going on about Christmas anyway? There is way too much fuss made of it,especially in such a heathen nation, and so it is no wonder that it is nothing more than a big let down for most. Christmas in the UK is vulgar, boring, licentious, and horribly grasping and materialistic. It is a modern day festival of sodom and Gommorah full of fake bonhomie. All that part of it,you can keep and ram up your fundament along with the crap TV and annual pleadings for poor !!!!!!s who you normally blank on the high street but now give some money so they can have some broth in some mega homeless shelter. A way of purging guilt? total nonsense.Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..0

I don't see the problem.
As an adjective, a given definition in some dictionaries of single is "unmarried or not involved in a stable sexual relationship."0 -

Talk about splitting hairs. Who in their right mind calls themselves unattached as a matter of course? When people fill in certain forms and you are asked your marital status, it doesnt say unattached does it? It says single
Oh and lots of people live together, some might even be engaged. Are they single just because they arent married.
Honestly, if something like that bothers you I think you need to step back and ask yourself why.0 -

Absolute nonsense indeed. I think you are talking complete and utter cobblers. Some broth in a homeless shelter? Have you ever been to a homeless shelter on christmas day? Ive worked in several and I can assure you the people who lived where I worked got a lot more than broth. And I give to charity all year round as it happens.
I dont have a tv by the way and neither does my mum who I visit at Christmas. I enjoy seeing her and seeing my brother. And yes, some people make a meal of Christmas, but others dont.
Again, talk about sweeping generalisations.0
