  • My Jobcentre advisor just said it is a numbers game, his leaving now, though.

Took me down the office shouting this girl is so desperate for work she has even tried PPI!! never cringed so much in all my life, for all the unemployed job bashers I got my hand shock, doubt anyone would be comfortable saying "alright your partner may have died who is paying for funeral" in such an heavy handed disgraceful manner, there comes a time when you have to get respect for yourself, because no one else will, nah I don't go to work to make people cry - and I'm PROUD
    Sorry, what?

There will come a day when these ignorant people will find themselves unemployed. I don't wish that on anyone, but I hope it happens to them one day and they'll see how hard life is on the dole!!

I'm one of those ignorant people who ended there but unlike you, I did take the first job that was offered to me, although it was a massive step down and I absolutely hated the job. That's ok, it gave me the motivation to look even harder for another one more suited and sure enough, I got there, no doubt being already in employment helping me with my application.
Most people are probably very foolish. A dead end job rarely leads to better jobs.
Because it is well known that being unemployed for many months does so???
All I get are dead end jobs
Have you ever reflected why that might be the case?

Most people are not defeatist, most people would take that job and if they wanted to progress they would in due course. Only you can change your attitude and drive.

And also (hope you don't mind this added to your statement), there will be plus points to a job no matter what the job is and the job (if you regard it as 'dead end') could be a means to an end, in the way of generating income to pay for a course or courses for a career that you want to do.
Work is like Life .. it all depends on your attitude towards it.

I'm applying for jobs to get work. I receive benefit to avoid starvation and destititution not because I want benefits. That's why the right wing who come out with this cruel crap should one day have a taste of their own medicine. They then might be a little bit more compassionate.

I think many people who you classify as right wing have themselves been unemployed - they've just gone about finding work more effectively (and more genuinely) than you seem to be doing.
  • OP, I live in the same town as you, and saw a job advertised in a shop window this morning. It didn't give hours or rate of pay, but won't be a night shift. I don't know if you drive or not, but it is easily accessible by bus. I will pm you the details.
