Appyling for jobs just to get benefits.

Sorry if this looks like spamming but I have to get it off my chest. It is really annoying to see right wing views get so much attention. These views are so stupid and simplistic.

I apply for any job I can find. Now it seems that applying for any job is bad too because I am apparently, according to the right wing, "just applying for jobs to get my benefits".

Damned if you do, damned if you don't.

There will come a day when these ignorant people will find themselves unemployed. I don't wish that on anyone, but I hope it happens to them one day and they'll see how hard life is on the dole!!

Idiots.

  • How did the interview go for the night job? I take it you went and did your very best, given that you will do any job?

I won't do any job, but I will do most jobs. This particular job, however, was a night shift which I cannot cope with...not just because I have done them before and they affect my health in a bad way but because I now live next to a very busy road and I can hear a pin drop, everything from lorries to ambulances and police cars every five minutes. The windows are not double-glazed or sound proof. In fact, the guy who lived in this bedsit before me has moved out because he has had to do night shifts. He's living in the box room at the back of the house. I went to the interview though. I just expressed my concern about the hours. I asked him was there any day shifts and the answer was no.

So your OP is untrue, you are not applying for any job, or are you applying for jobs you have no intention of doing?

Well then there is your problem, you can't be fussy. you need to apply for any Jobs.

I don't want to do cleaning but I am appliying for cleaning jobs as I just want to get of the dole. you are claiming JSA, that means you are active seeking work and applying for jobs you can do.

I am almost applying for any job and my advisor at Jobcentre has no problem with this as long as I can do the job.

I understand that today more than ever we need to look at ways to decrease our benefits bill. I think correct me if I am wrong that in brief the new system is designed to encourage people to take jobs and get off benefits.

Perhaps not the perfect job but something. I admire that fact that you asked them at the interview.

We recently had a recruitment drive and it was difficult to find the right people but I think in the main we did. We could tell though that some had simply applied to tick a box and had no interest in the job itself.

I understand that there has to be a system and therefore some form of measurement but it wasted a lot of time.

P.s I hope I never find out what it is like to be unemployed.
Happiness, Health and Wealth in that order please!:A
