After doing my sums it looks like February's total will be....+£12. Considering my average month should be £1,260 to get the £15k, I need to pull the finger out! Had a lovely valentines in Paris though, despite the cost ! Back to work tomorrow and need to bang in the hours try to get that +£12 into the £££'s, take some pressure off over the summer. The 15k will be spilt into 2 at end of year, half for a new van when required and half kept as emergency fund. Iv only got tues-sat this week but got 55 hour week! Love hard work, will reap the rewards when saving £1500+ in march!:eek:Living frugally at 24

Thanks JoJo and tara. Agreed I could spend less often but my policy is I can't take it with me and enjoy seeing the family get pleasure form what I can give them now. Get-together's with the whole family are virtually impossible, S-in-L works 6 days a week, DD has a degenerative illness and the DGD all live/work elsewhere. Christmas is the time we all look forward to, it's the best as we can all guarantee to be together
Today was a nsd/npd, that's 10 so far this month. After a little juggling I've scraped together £280 to put into the savings fund which is just under my goal total for the month. After a disastrous January I'm pleased with how Feb going so far.
True, you can't take it with you - but you can take it to New Zealand!!It's all about balance. I like girlatplay's idea of a treat fund - maybe you could create one for treating your family? Then you know that you have money for yourself and your holiday fund.
Ooh, well on 10 NSDs so far, that's amazing!!! :TMorning everyone
