As I'm feeling particularly optimistic today, and as me and OH both just got pay rises of just under £1000 each, I'm going to increase our target and go for the full £12k instead of 11k. We will be paid about an extra £50 each per month after tax so will try to put £1100 into savings per month instead of £1000.

Would you mind updating the first post and the spreadsheet please, slowlyfading?

Hopefully, this will mean we have a 5.5% deposit by the end of this year and by the end of 2015 will have our full deposit :)

Added £250. I'm not counting the bulk of my savings until the end of the year as I'm 'storing' them in my high interest current account.

"Because the next few months are going to pass by whether you save or not"

Just realised - for any of those people who pay council tax 10 x monthly rather than over 12 months - there is nothing to pay this month or next! For me that means that I can add £115 extra to the savings pot this month and next :j

Well done to everyone who has managed to save something this month. To those who haven't saved a lot don't get disheartened, we still have most of the year to come!

Unfortunately this week both my bunnies got ill resulting in a £350 vet bill which will set me back a bit this month, but they are insured so I should at least get some of it back - excess is £50 for each bunny and I'm sure I won't get all of the remainder back because it's dental work so may get 50% though that's better than nothing. I need to sort out the insurance forms so have paid on cc and will pay off from this months pay on Friday. When I get whatever I'm getting back I'll add that to savings.
    Finally bought a home

I've added updates on the first page for Jan (sorry its late) and Feb - £500 for Jan and £500 for Feb. I am quite happy with that because we got a new boiler in January so was spending lots!

Good to hear everyone is doing so well :-)
