I must apologise - I have lost track of this thread over the last couple of months (Had a very busy last 2 months of the year) Its not bang on but definitely managed to save £500 in December taking my savings for 2014 to £13,813 - Some of this has been spent recently, after moving into our new house we needed a bit of construction work doing but our savings goal has helped reduce the impact on this and we are heading into 2015 with a decent pot of savings.
Well done everybody on your targets.....ready to smash another 12k in 2015 now!Millionaire in Training
Mortgage: £27,535 (49% paid) Aim £25,000 by December 2015
New House Mortgage £197,836 (4% Paid) Aim £194,000 by December 2015
#153 Save 12k in 2015 Challenge: £15,697£12,0000 -
I've just submitted my form for December.
Just a nominal amount of £120, to bring my total to £19000, which was a £1000 over my target.
I'm very pleased with the outcome of this challenge - and thank you to Slowly Fading for running the challenge.
I won't be able to join in for the next couple of years, due to my recent retirement, so I'm not really sure how much spare money we'll have each month (if any!)
However, my husband will get his state pension in October 2016, so our income will increase at that point.
So I might be able to join you all again in 2017!Early retired - 18th December 2014

Twiggy_34 - I'm so sorry to hear about your partner's mum; what an awful thing to happen so young, but then at this time of year it must make it doubly hard. Take care of yourselves x
Goldiegirl - congratulations on your retirement! Thank you for taking part - looking forward to you maybe joining to clan at a later dateenjoy your new found freedom!

Just reading over all the posts there and some amount has been saved! Congrats everyone
Ive managed to save enough for a deposit and bought myself a wee house (and the mortgage that comes with it ) but I can honestly say without this thread I wouldnt of had the motivation to save so much.
Saved enough for the deposit, legal costs etc and for some decoration/repairs so now ill need to make a new target for next year0 -

Ended up having a couple of good months to end 2014, and saved £1,504.38 in December alone - so I've ended up 95.06% of the way to my target, which I'm pretty happy about since it's been an expensive year
Thanks for your hard work on maintaining this, slowlyfading, and see you all in the 2015 thread. :T0 -
Hi everyone
I'm reporting a big fat zero for December I'm afraid - mainly because of some big bills for work on the patio and garden that we've been planning for a while. Which brings us to the end of 2014 with only about 75% of our savings target achieved. But still a good year's saving.... just an over optimistic target!
Well done everyone on your savings this year, as ever it's been hugely motivating to be on the forum. And a huge thank you to SlowlyFading for organising things.
Hope to see you all on the 2015 thread!Save 12k in 2013-2014-2015-2016-2017-2018-2019-2020-2021-2022 - then early-retired.0 -
I cannot believe it is almost 2015 already- it only feels like yesterday I sat down, made a 2014 budget and signed up to this thread!
#132 declaring £2065 for December which gives us a total of £23900 savings in 2014 and puts us close to our house deposit target :j
Well done to everybody who has saved this year & thank you slowlyfading for running this thread, you're a star!
Wishing everyone a very happy and healthy 2015
SF- I updated the spreadsheet with a slightly different amount as some of my figures went a bit squiffy somewhere along the line, have made it so the final total is the correct amountMFiT-T4 #75: £142,480 to £86,700 by Jan 2019
