  • I've just submitted my total for December of £360. That takes me to a total of £3160, way over my original target of £2k and a fair way over my revised target of £2.5k.

December hasn't been great for my household, my partners mum passed away unexpectedly just over 2 weeks ago, at the age of just 58, but they're holding fairly strong so far and we managed to have a pleasant Xmas despite the sad times. It has meant it's been more expensive than expected where I've tried to look out to some household affairs to reduce stress for everyone but that's where my backup savings have come into play again so my official savings haven't been affected. My laptop also got drowned in water by a family member visiting for the funeral, hopefully their insurance will cover replacement but, again, my spare savings will cover it if needed.

Hope everyone else had a good Xmas and wishing you all the best for 2015 x

Not been on for ages but have been saving as much as possible. Have just submitted my Nov amount and Dec looking good as well. My target has already been met so anything else is a bonus.
Well done to everyone on saving no matter how large or small the amount.

Final update for the last 2 months brings my total to 18k out of 20k. Slightly disappointed I couldn't hit the target, however it was changed from 15,000 midway through the year, so I can't be too glum :)

Here's to a heavy saving 2015. Good luck everyone!!

  • Declaring £2500 for December. Will pop over and update the spreadsheet now. I hope everyone has had a great Christmas.
  • Number 108 here. December has been very expensive indeed. Searches, survey, mortgage fee and a new laptop to pay for. £100 saved. I joined this thread late but it has helped such a lot and I'm £500 over my 5k target! Yay!

  • I have missed my target - declaring at #8060 out of 12000 I had intended to save. The reason is a disastrous year in terms of technology which affected my income dramatically. To cut a long story short I have now changed to self employment so that I am in control of all the things that went wrong in the large organisation I used to work for. I haven't had an income for a couple of months and it may be a couple more before the fruits of my labour feed through, but I have got a very healthy current account and if I added that to the savings, I would be well over target. However, that money is a cushion for the next few months and I do hope everything will improve in 2015. Well done all of you, and for those who like me couldn't make it, dust yourself up, brush yourselves down and start all over again!

I'm more worried about 4 days of spending at the sales potential! I'm going to barricade myself indoors! :D

Declaring 15k total for the year, above and beyond my original 5k target.

With 8 kids, including a new one this year, and some big purchases this year like a van for work and £500 on a tumble dryer this month I'm pretty pleased with my total.

Hopefully be buying a home for the first time next year.

Well done to everyone involved this year.
