    Brilliant result Lomcevak:T:T:T. Well done!

Thanks - very pleased with how this year has gone, I had £24k in mind at the start but chickened out and set an initial £18k target, then tried to see how long I could keep £24k in sight - happily we made it :D
WOW! :T Well done :) I wish I had enough income to allow me to put away amounts like that.
We're not badly off, but we're not on mega incomes either. Four or five years ago we realized we were badly stuck in the 'two incomes' trap with a big mortgage, lots of outgoings, no savings, and no ability to cope if a salary stopped or dropped for any reason, so this is really the continuation of a march to safety - in a good month we save about two thirds of our take-home pay, which is why our annual savings are quite high.

We'll either ease off or reprioritize within a couple of years, as the mortgage is slowly starting to become less frightening and the usual 12 months income/emergency funds/rainy day funds are all filled. We're not quite at the ease-off point yet though, but the end is getting closer.

Sorry for not posting on this I was #12 who signed up in 2013 but since then I have got on the london property ladder and have one BTL and have been saving even harder with the rent coming in as well as a promotion at work meaning my target of 12k was achieved within the first 8 months.

I have since spent most of my savings on the BTL and was empty for about 2 months but in the last 4 months since it has been rented I have built that back up to £5,600.

I will sign up to 2015 and see how it goes but I am already on the hunt for a second BTL if a good property comes up that might change the 2015 plan of saving 20k.

I also have been known as the tightest person on the planet by my family this year!
    Age: 24 / London/Ireland / Salary €49,000 / 1 London BTL (8% yield) / Total savings pot £12k+
    Lloyds Club CA £5,000 @4% / FD Regular Saver £3,600 @6% (12 of 12) / TSB Classic CA £2,000 @5%
    Clydesdale Direct CA £1,000 @2% / Santander ISA £700 @0.5% / Premium Bonds - £100
Halifax Reward CA (£5 per month) / Santander 1|2|3 CC (cashback)

    Hi everyone

I'm not in a position to start this yet but the thread is inspirational, well done to all who saved towards their target.

Just £285 to declare for December, which takes me to a grand savings total of £15,900 and I've hit my target for the year!

Savings were lower this month as I've treated myself to a new laptop (which I've been putting off all year and now feels justified!). Thanks again to slowlyfading for running the thread.

Hope you all have a lovely Christmas, see you over in the 2015 challenge :)

 £1200 to declare for December, and I've reached £16350 for the whole year!

Congratulations to everyone on their savings - no matter how large or small, its still an achievment :D

Wishing everyone a merry and relaxing Christmas and a happy, prosperous new year! ;)
