LG Smart TV

Looking around to buy a new telly, came across an LG, I do not need one for gaming so it does not need to be all bells and lights, but I would have liked at least 2 scarts, (my PVR and VCR via STB are all scart.), however I could buy a mulit scart plug.
From John Lewis it is £549.00 with a 5 year guarantee delivered, and I have DSR.
From Richer Sounds it is £550.00 with a 5 year guarantee, ( no DSR, as only call and collect), but the guarantee cost is refunded if not used.
Any comments on the TV appreciated.

I cannot comment on the tv, but Richer Sounds offer to beat any price, the amount depending on the price range.0

Which model of LG is it?
We bought one last year from Richer and have been very happy with it. Probably spend more time watching stuff on iPlayer than we do live.
I'd generally avoid extended warranties - and while the RS one is good, you have to remember to claim the money back at the right time. If you're like me and you forget things like that, then you don't get the money back. (I only did it once)1. Have you tried to Google the answer?
2. If you were in the other person's shoes, how would you react?
3. Do you want a quick answer or better understanding?0 -

The price difference is £1.00 if you include the guarantee, so I can't see how they can beat it.Which model of LG is it?

Why can't they beat it ?
On an item between £301 and £1000, they will beat any other price by £10, so £549-£10=£539.
They do honour their offer and if you take their email, they will give you an extra £10 off voucher.0 -

You'd better buy your TV fast. More and more often now TVs are down to one SCART. Or maybe since you're upgrading your TV, you should also upgrade your PVR to one that connects via HDMI, to get a better picture out of your recordings.0

A VCR???? What is that?:D
I am old school, if it ain't broke, (still working), don't fix it, my VCR is still working but very rarely used, I have a Humax PVR which has only scart conns, working through STB into a Toshiba 37" CRT TV, go on ask me what CRT is:D, which gives a perfectly acceptable/good picture even though it is 12 years old, I only want a newer one so I can have a larger screen and hopefully watch catch up TV on it via WI-FI assuming I can set it up, which reminds me, my computer running Windows XP is 13 years old but still does what I want it to, although sometimes slowly, however I may have to update that to shortly as support for it will end next April.
Never even had a DVD recorder/player they completely passed me by.

I promise you the picture quality delivered by SCART to a new large screen TV will not even approach what you've been used to on a Cathode Ray Tube.a Toshiba 37" CRT TV, go on ask me what CRT is:D, which gives a perfectly acceptable/good picture even though it is 12 years old, I only want a newer one so I can have a larger screen

DVD?
Now that reminds me, is it true that whatever products I buy, I will never get the picture quality on a new TV against that is produced on a CRT?
