the on street preachers have every right to use the town center if they wish. it would appear in a number of threads on this board that there is a growing intolerance for people in towns and cities if their entire motivation is not the maximization of profit or spending.

Or to buy china crockery while sipping Mulled wine. ;)

In case you haven't noticed you've had a bit of a reaction here from the great unwashed. https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4843681 :rotfl:

Isn't the point of the discussion on this thread that they *don't* have the right to disrupt the lives and businesses of other people just because it suits them...?

If someone were to stand in the street with amplification, loudly advertising the low drink prices at their pub, would you object to that?

like a little tolerance of non money saving threads :p

btw its good to see you participating in one :T

I think if you read my posts on the subject of toleranace you will find that I have no problem with non money related threads. What I do object to is threads that are political or sectarian but I let the board administrator decide what is appropriate.

    Surely that is tolerance?

I have a real beef with these preachers.

If some people believe they have an invisible friend in the sky, then thats their right to do so. It doesnt give them the *right* to try to enforce that on the rest of us.

If these were Muslims or Jehovahs witnesses there'd be public outcry but its "ok" because their Christian.

If they want more people in their particular cult, then encourage them to go to church, DONT inflict your beliefs on "normal" people.

Invariably too its glum looking old men telling us we're all going to burn in hell - hardly an image / message of love.

You get offended by people preaching in the street yet have no problem coming onto a public forum and being offensive to Christian people on here with calling them cults and having an invisible friend in the sky.

I understand the OP saying that it's every week and very loud and I think the people preaching should lower their mics or move to different places.

It's not like these people are preaching violence and hate.

As a believer I find street preachers offensive and off putting.

If you call yourself a believer but find street preaching offensive I really wonder what it is that you believe in.

Its a pity these street preachers/wobblers are not liable under 'Miss-selling ' legislation as they loudly treat their fantasies!!!!

I think the preachers were very rude and selfish not to have spoken with the OP prior to setting up their "live show" right outside his shop.
