I'm not suggesting the complaint should be anonymous. What I said was that the council wouldn't divulge details of who made it to the press or media.0 -
Newtownards has its own 'screaming lunatic' on Saturday afternoon's at the town market. A public nuisance in my view!

Ach I don't know about banning them. By and large they're harmless, except if they're causing a nuisance or loss of trade as in the OP's case.
I don't see what good they do and I've never heard of anybody being converted to their particular faith as a result of their street preaching but if it's what they think they should be doing and it's causing no harm let them get on with it.
I mean I don't know about you, but I've seen worse goings on in the streets.0 -

Just print off some materials from the Satanic Temple of New York, so you can have an exchange of information...0 -

I agree that they're not doing anyone any harm, but spare a thought for the struggling business person. I know for a fact that footfall is reduced on the days that these guys are preaching on the street. What other activity that could be shown to negatively affect business and commerce in our towns would be permitted.
Business owners have enough to be worrying about, without this activity annoying some shoppers. I have yet to hear one comment from anyone that is in favour of them, or that thinks that this is a good thing.
I should point out again, I've no problem with the content of what they're preaching... what ever you're into yourself... Its just that these people roaring and shouting over a mic simply isn't conducive to a relaxed shopping environment..
I would be open to them varying the location from week to week... my problem is that they are always outside my premises!0 -
If these were Muslims there'd be public outcry
Give it time, man. Shouldn't be too long - I've seen them in action in England. Allah is great, apparently.
If they want more people in their particular cult, then encourage them to go to church, DONT inflict your beliefs on "normal" people.
I think that's what they're trying to do
Invariably too its glum looking old men telling us we're all going to burn in hell - hardly an image / message of love.

I don't know - it might be good crack, out with a PA system. Especially with a guitar and a couple of girl singers. It's got to be more fun than golf on a Saturday morning“What means that trump?” Timon of Athens by William Shakespeare0 -
At the risk of stating the obvious, have you tried talking to them?0
