Ok have done my sums and my order with Asda is £30 + £3 delivery and I have £6 voucher to use. Grand total £27.
If I use Sainsbury and assuming I used public transport rather than pay for delivery ( i dont drive or have access to a car) my order would be £27 and I have £4 voucher so grand total £23. If I pay delivery I'd have to add £7 so would come out at £30 BUT I'd also get 46 nectar points = 23p :rotfl::rotfl:0 -
Mum2one - hv just got round to writing down your biscuit & scone recipe. Love the idea of a simple basic recipe that can make so many different options depending on what's available.
My printer ink is getting low, so I am trying not to print anything I don't need. It's amazing how often I would just click Print, when I can easily use pen & paper (as per the recipes!)0 -

I am VERY impressed with your Maths pm x :T0 -
pm2326 I have just done the same - worked out that I had a sainsbobs £15 off a £60 shop so can ger £2.99 delivery - spent at total of £55.36 but got lots of items on offer so cost would of been £105.92 if I hadn't had vouncher and special offers! Got everything else for the month (and probably into next month) such as toilet roll, washing powder, dishwasher tabs etc as well as enough fresh stuff to last 10 days or so so should only need 1 top up shop this month!
Quite pleased with how much I got for the price but I am sure I am still not being as frugal as some!!!0 -
Oh dear - went to Hoobie craft for some plaster of Paris - they were out of it but.....there was a sale on. I phoned my friend from the shop - yes she wanted some bargains too. Came home with a full shopping trolley plus bag.
I did put the spend on my CC after I picked myself up off the floor when the assistant told me - how much! However I have the money ready to pay it off right away.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

We've had a dishwasher since we inherited one with our first house and I still scoop up everyone's abandoned plates, cups and cutlery
Ours finally went bang a couple of months ago (it was 12 years with 2 house moves though) and we're looking to replace it as we really miss oursApril 2021 Grocery Challenge 34.29 / 2500 -
I have had a dishwasher since 1975 - not the same one!
I got a new dishwasher last year - slimline one as there are just two of us.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

I was at work today. Generally, working days are NSD's, so I can generally guarantee 2 NSDs in any week.
One thing I've always been good about is taking my lunch to work.
When I worked full time, I took my lunch four out of the five days, but we'd always go out on Friday for coffee and lunch.
At my current job, I'm only there two days a week, and only get 30 mins for my lunch break, so I never go out to lunch. At least that helps with the frugality. My husband also takes a packed lunch, so we won't make any changes in this area.Early retired - 18th December 2014

Hey all,
Good day here - got the car fixed, needed a new battery. Halfords quoted £85 and then £6 fitting but had a phone call to say the battery was cheaper at £59 but still £6 fitting so not as bad as we thought and means now I can use the car. Have really missed having it but it needed jump starting every time and that isn't something I can do alone !!
Aiming for a NSD tomorrow unless an offer I made for a tablet on FB is accepted. Might put up a few things of my own to sell though to negate the cost
Have had a good day on Swagbucks too - made my daily totals for the 2nd day running and I am now 10% towards a £25 Amazon voucher - that will pay for brothers 30th birthday pressies and have some left for hubby to spend on himself as an Easter present. Determined to be present neutral this year
Not done very many comps today - might go and see if I can do some before bednot won anything so far this month though - I know it is only the 2nd though
Love, luck and money saving vibes to everyoneGentle hugs to those that need them or are ill - get well soon xx xx

Hi Florenceem. Do you subscribe to 'Hoobie craft' You get emails when their sales are online. This might save you some money if you're not as tempted as when you go instore. I agree though that place is lethal for spending. If I pop in for one or two things I wander around like a child in a sweet shop...aaaah all the shiny colours...:D
When I started quilting I went there to get everything I needed, sheesh! Mind you I do use it all and hopefully it will last, aside from new blades for my rotary cutter.
