Will sign up for next year's challenge, it will keep ne focused.
Quite pleased that my paid overtime and a full refund from VIrgin trains (even though it wasn't actually their fault we missed the train) means I can pay off my CC in full this month so can start 2015 straight. I was worried it would take a couple of months of financial jigging to get straight after this month.0 -
Hi ladies, have been absent for a few weeks as had issues with internet connection, it's back up and running now so will go back and have a read through.
Does anyone know if there is a way of going back to your last read post or do you just have to flick through?Grocery Challenge 2024

I've joined the challenge for 2015... however I am keen to get into the frugal spirit now... so I hope you don't mind me joining the thread very late.
I have been over my T3sco Xmas shop (due tomorrow) and with a few downgrades of brands and writing out a menu plan I have scraped £30 off the Christmas fortnight shop. Down from £140 to £110 for two weeks. I normally spend around £50 a week (family of three (myself gluten free - tres expensive food too) + two pets. So £55 a week is pretty good going for me. I am hoping to get the shopping bill down to £40 a week next year with more menu planning, baking and less gluten free bread (£2.40 a loaf!!)
I am working an extra long over-time shift tonight, so I have made my supper/breakfast/lunch meals to take in rather than purchase from a supermarket on my way to work (naughty I know) and have drank more water today and less coffee.
I was going to get little one a DVD from the shop £3.99 for a Christmassy film. Instead we wrapped up warm and at 4pm went for a walk to look at all the neighbourhood Christmas lights. We came back to hot cocoa and a Christmas story from an old book. She loved it! £3.99 saved.
I look forward to celebrating Christmas and the New Year with all you lovely frugally folks.
Have a great weekend,
Bams xx0 -

What a lovely thing to do:A. Just shows that the best things in life really are free. You've given your daughter something special to remember for years:T.0 -

Welcome to the thread. What a lovely way to spend an evening looking at the Christmas lights.
Last night myself and OH took a drive up to a town we used to live in as the church there has incredible Christmas lights. We have been doing this every year since we moved away from there (about 18 years) and then come home for a Christmas snack.0 -

That's a lovely tradition to have started:T.0 -
Welcome to the challenge, Bamby, I hope you have a fun and frugal 2015
10 days and counting that's all we have left of this year's challenge and I haven't a clue where all the time went. Hopefully, it was all time well spent.I reserve the right not to spend.
The less I spend, the more I can afford.
