I had a wee look for it on my local library catalogue this morning but they don't hold it. He does have another book free to read online called 'The Moneyless Manifesto' which I read bits of this morning (I couldn't sleep so gave in and got up at 4.20am).
It's got me thinking about joining a local Timebank to swap skills. I will look into that in the NY I think.0 -

Young mummy - I agree. 2014 has been the fastest year of my life. It scares me as well. But all we can do is try to live as well as we can & enjoy the moments." Your vibe attracts your tribe":D

I'm sure I've blinked and missed a year, 'cos I've done so little of what I have planned for 2014
But at times it feels like it's dragged since July due to limits of what I've been able to after breaking my wrist !! Physio signed me off last Friday as the movement is now 'functional' and there's not been much change other than a bit more strngth my last few visits. Still have to be careful about weights and can't bend it back enough to return to yoga or pilates classes yet, but I'm managing a lot more now than I could even a month ago (mainly in terms of things I can move around in the kitchen without having to suddenly swap hands as it feels like it's going to give out on me).Cheryl0 -
morning all
agree this year has flown by..
I really do need to kick myself up the butt re-Christmas, i just cant get myself into gear..
Money is tight, and i have told our boys ( 19 and 20) that its going to be a very bare, basic Christmas, but i cant even get myself to buy the stocking filler stuff like socks and pants lol...
its a mine field out there, i normally buy our boys the links gift sets, but the price diff between diff shops is unreal.. forget boots..3 for 2 stuff, as after you factor in the 'deal' it brings the price back down to normal prices in other shops..
another cuppa i think, and try and get into the Christmas mood, 'baaaa humbug' ( honestly i used to love Christmas, i hate it now..)Work to live= not live to work0 -

thanks for the heads up.... I did see them in superdrug a week or two ago for £1.60 odd, but I didn't have any spare money on me..Work to live= not live to work0 -
Today I have gone over the food budget I set myself for the year. Did a big shop leading up to Christmas. Hoping to do a small shopping list for the each of next few weeks of the year. Am going to M&S the week leading up to Christmas to get some food with the vouchers I got. This will be a great help. So hoping not be too much over what I have set myself.
Am hoping to do a little bit of decluttering before the end of the year.
Am doing Hearty Lives programme to get eat better and get more exercise. I need to lose quite a bit of weight. This is free and I do get support. I get a review every 3 months and if I make an effort in achieving the goals set, then it gets extended a further 3 months. It can last up to a year.
I want to go to some places eg Museum of London for the Sherlock Holmes Exhibition, so I have made a note of what the cost is to get in, if there is one. I will carry over to next year to spread the cost.Frugal Living Challenge 2025 Mortgage free as of 1st August 20130 -
Kerry woman, I have quite a bit of weight to lose too. What's the Hearty Lives programme? I must have a look online and see if I can find it.
I am going to wait until the New Year before I tackle my weight - I will have finished up at work and my plan is to de-stress and get back on a good old-style diet of freshly cooked foods plus daily exercise.0 -
allie23 - the programme is funded/supported by BHF. There is a certain aspects that people are eligible eg High blood pressure, Diabetes and Overweight (High BMI). If you check out the BHF website it gives an email address if people for people to make enquiries. So far it has encouraged me to exercise more and trying to be eat more healthy. There are times that I struggle to exercise when I have to go to work, but can do exercise in 3 x 10mins. I do get weighed and have my blood pressure taken. Luckily my local council is involved. It might possibly vary where you live. I am very lucky what my council offers.Frugal Living Challenge 2025 Mortgage free as of 1st August 20130
