I took the bulb out of the oven and fridge today. I found out on average people have the light on 2.5 days a year. Most times the kitchen is lights anyway when I open the fridge. Or I have the kitchen light on for cooking at night...
I also tried washing my running clothes in the shower while I showered. I stomped on them in the bottom. I did it right after stretching when I got home. They are up drying now so I'll smell them shortly and see if it worked. If it did then that's save me a bit on washing clothes. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. (Hiding my head in shame) My central heating is on. For the last couple of days I have been bone-cold day and night and I am just miserable I was trying to hold out until October but heard the weather forecast tonight and thought that 4 or 5 degrees tomorrow morning would be too much of a shock to cope with. I don't think it will be on long, just enough to warm the house through. And yes, I did try warmer clothes but once I get cold it takes over in a very negative way.Solar Suntellite 250 x16 4kW Afore 3600TL dual 2KW E 2KW W no shade, DN15 March 14

One of my colleagues resigned today. He says he feels burned out and every time he looks at his timetable he just feels like he can't cope with it. I am gutted that he's going but its given me food for thought. I have been feeling very apprehensive about going back this year after being off with stress last year. I quite fancy the idea of leaving full time teaching and just doing supply work. Going to see how I get on this year but keeping this option there in case I need it.
Too many of us feeling like this about going back! What is he going to do instead?
Hope your start back is not too stressful2019 fashion on a ration 0/66 coupons0 -

But mortage free in about 6 years or so..kind of hoping he might get retired off early but i doubt it as they would pay him money..which seeing as they are very tight i doubt it!

Hello!
Finally coming out of lurk mode and would like to join the challenge (better late than never right?!)
I lived beyond my means for a few years after graduating so started this year with £1800 credit card debt and at the bottom of my overdraft. Now I'm down to the last £500 on my credit card and thanks to more frugal ways I will be less than £30 in my overdraft by pay day! So pleased
I've been reading his thread for a while (I commute into London so lots of time on trains and buses for reading) and I can't thank you all enough for the inspiration and entertainment! Hopefully I can start to share what's working for me too and pay back to the community
Happy Thursday everyone!0 -

Hi Jellie, at the moment he doesn't have anything lined up. He says he may try bar work for a wee while just to give himelf time to think about what to do next.
First few days back have been fine. I like catching up with the kids and hearing what they have done during the hols. Feeling tired now though but I just need to get used to going to bed at a reasonable time for getting up early. I am going to have a relaxing night tonight making some raspberry jam which I will stockpile to use towards christmas gifts.0 -
Anyone else thinking about Christmas yet? I'm a bit of a Christmas fairy to be honest and love the festive season and the run up to it. I have £300 of Park vouchers coming at Xmas which will do a large chunk of all gifts (we buy for my family, his family and of course the boys and ourselves if anything in the kitty by then!). My lot have all said £10 or under which makes a huge difference and more so is quite fun. I am one of 6 siblings and all of us give Mum ideas to share with siblings, thing we could do with i.e. an apron, a calendar, a 2015 diary.... :rudolf:MSE-ing since 20070
