Really hoping it's ok to start this now as I have only just spotted in after doing a Google search. I also look forward to prepping myself NOW for a more frugal 2015 year!
My first goal is to take things slowly... so I will plan not to buy anything for the next 30 days. This does not include ESSENTIAL food or college fees or services.
I'm not planning to save anything for saving sake as we have debt but what is saved and left over at the end of each month will go on the credit cards AFTER being paid again. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. It's my husbands birthday on Thursday and I came up with a terrific FREE gift idea. His favourite author is Raymond E. Feist... I will get him one he hasn't read from the library and then wrap some ribbon around it from my cardmaking collection
He has this next 2 weeks off work so it's perfect. He can listen to some nice music, relax and have a read from his fave author. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

I am heading to my local college enrolment evening tonight to sign up for a course called Tea Time treats. I hope the course isn't full yet as I would really look forward to it. The alternative is a course on breadmaking which I will sign up for if the other one is full.
I am hoping this will give me a nice wee hobby and I can pick up some new skills and recipes.
Otherwise keeping it simple frugal wise. I had set a goal of not putting my heating on until end of Sept or ideally mid October. But it has turned really cold here just now. OH said he'd had heating on last week while I was away for a few days. I told him to get a jumper on as he walks around the house in T-shirts! So I am wearing a jumper and have use my hot water bottle the last 3 nights!0 -

Slightly random but I love Raymond Feist, pretty sure I've read everything now though
It's my birthday on the 4th September and I've asked my hubby for.... a Slimming World countdown. 6 weeks for the price of 5. I'd be paying anyway but get a bonus week and if I eat the flowers he'll probably get me too it won't matter as they are syn-free.MSE-ing since 20070 -
What you could do is try and price check at what ever stores you have available and try and get the cheapest item at which ever store is cheapest. That is what many people are doing nowadays and it also means that the overall budget can be lowered but without sacrificing quality.
There are also many ways to cut the grocery bills lower such as but own brand value items especially for simple vegetables. Will a can of chopped tomatoes really taste that different depending on brand?
Thanks frugal sod!! That's what I do, I get the majority of the flyers and check the deals..
Would you believe where I live there are no own brands? The nearest is Carrefour....094 Sealed pot member! (7) €185 (8) €138 (9) €€250

Hi Nicki
I just thought I'm not even sure what he's read. I know he wouldn't have read the latest saga because he hasn't bought any new ones since we got together 3 years ago. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
