Ooooh thanks DawnW xx Just mentioned this to Mr Shortie and he's up for giving it a go next week
Edit: Just seen the comment about it there's no wine or sherry to add more water. I'll do just that then, ta :-)April 2021 Grocery Challenge 34.29 / 2500 -

Had to keep appealing as I got turned down twice. Know its a pain to keep fighting and asking and I know £100 isn't a huge amount but right now it is to me!!
Deffo worth the phone calls and emails :j

I use an app on my android tablet called goodbudget (used to be called EEBA or easy envelope budgeting app) it links into a website so you can edit stuff on your phone or tablet or computer and is completely free.
It lets you create virtual envelopes that you dictate the budget of and then every time you spend you type it in and allocate it to the correct envelope e.g. I have food, petrol etc.
You can also tell it your usual day to fill the envelopes e.g. your payday and it has a tracker bar in each envelope that counts down and tells you if your over or under budget for that period of time.
You can also set envelopes for savings, e.g. I have car tax and insurance, dentist and prescriptions and christmas. And allocate a certain amount to each one each month.
If you pay you can allocate each enveople to a different bank account and have it completely tie in with your finances, if you go with the free version it will only let you choose one account.
Hope that helps xxDebt FREE thanks to YNAB0 -
What is TVP please? It is mentioned in mince recipes"One hundred years from now, it will not matter what kind of car I drove, what kind of house I lived in, how much was in my bank account, nor what my clothes looked like but the world may be a little bit better because I was important in the life of a child."0

a little diced pineapple is a luxurious addition if you have any around. Tinned is fine
if it is tinned in juice then you can use the juice in the recipe - we did something very similar last week when I found a tin of pineapple in the cellar. It was a hairy dieters recipe as I am doing WW so we didn't do the fry meat in flour bit but still nice - I also found a tin of beanshoots so that went in too (should have been water chestnuts but didn't have those).I’m a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Pensions, Annuities & Retirement Planning, Loans

Hello lovely people
Thank you for the welcomes and advice. I havessome positives to report.
Our financial advisor is hopeful he can reduce our mortgage by £175- £256 per month depending on which is best for our needs and we are accepted (thats the crunch bit fingers crossed)
DH has been banned from shopping as he doubles the food bill! He is OK with that and when i was ill last week he went out to aldiniiti with strict list and didnt stray...even brought list back to prove it. He is enjoying reporting his NSD at work but we need to look at the weekends because boy does the man like to shop! Not big ticket items but cakes , coffee shop's usually costapacket it all ads up.
God rid of the sky after big haggle they were not going to budge. They told me that they would not automatically refund any outstanding credit i would have to ring to request it! Told them i was surprised they did such business practice they told me BT do it too (so thats OK then?) I asked them if they were recording the call for training purposes because i thought they should.
Now onto emotional stuff - DH is going to sell a much loved item. It will clear majority of debt but i have tremendous guilt over it. He very much says health and quality of life more important but it doesnt stop me feeling bad.How do you deal with it??0 -
Hi Picklepot - that's a tough one to be honest - I sold a much beloved item of mine last year as I needed the money. I was sad to see it go but I have promised myself that if we ever get to a point of having surplus money then I would buy another of it. Mind you difference would be then that I would have also learnt from experience and wouldn't rush the purchase and therefore end up with a better item for it.
But it still stung - it's only natural. But given the choice again I'd sell it ll over again as being financially more stable was far more important xxApril 2021 Grocery Challenge 34.29 / 2500
