Brilliant - thank you "One hundred years from now, it will not matter what kind of car I drove, what kind of house I lived in, how much was in my bank account, nor what my clothes looked like but the world may be a little bit better because I was important in the life of a child."0 -
Ellie we dont have a tumbler dryer cant afford the costs to run it with a family of 5. When it was just the 2 of us it was an extra £30 a month on electric so hate to think what it whould be now! We just make sure to resuse clothes apart from socks and pants , and i have 3 dryers (only use 2 but sometimes i need a 3rd if im behind) by the time one load is dry on one dryer the other load can go on, also fleece objects dry faster so i just hang those over my upstairs banisters where no one can see them, tehy dry with in a day or so naturally..my house looks like a chinese laundry but its saved us a bomb.
All i have spent on extras ie non bills this week is £11.21 ..£9.21 on cinema for 3 with booking fee and £2.00 for beevers club.
Off to library to pick up some books and a parcel from post office.
Saturday planning on taking boys to see some stargazing at a local park if the weathers good.
Have a great weekend all xCompers challenge 27/70

Hi T*sco value are 31p but I find they are a bit watery for my tastes. I did get 4 for a pound at B&M a while ago and they are lovely with thick juice. That is the cheapest I have seen them for soooo long. I bought 200 cans as we use loads! Seems a lot I know but over time that is quite a saving. If anyone's seen them cheaper please let me know where-thanks.
I do find that using value tomatoes means that I have to use twice as many, I like the chopped tomatoes as they're a bit thicker. I usually buy crates from Costc0 that usually come out around 35p a can.
P0undland have 3 for £1 at the moment.
Day 5 of bringing lunch to work - last of December's stew, so I need to buy onions and carrots so I can make another, I'll half the amount of meat this time.
Does anyone know if minced beef would work in a stew?LBM: NOVEMBER 2011 || debt free date:30/06/15 || The Fighting Debt Army: #442 || Frugal Living Challenge 2018 || January 2018 Grocery £1.22/£100 ||0 -

No Using the Tumble Dryer in 2014 Challenge: Frugal January
Going to get my washing done tonight ready to hang out after the shower at 9 am in the morning. Apparently it's dry all day after that. I've always resorted to the tumble dryer in January before. Anyone else going to give it a go? Monday looks good too.
I have a washer/dryer and the dryer isn't good it takes ages to dry and creases the clothes, so I have put my washing on an airer the last few years. I have two, they take up room but I have saved a lot of money.Debts CC1 1424 // CC2 1836.65 // CC3 [STRIKE]973.40[/STRIKE] 823.70 // CC4 [STRIKE]609.05[/STRIKE] 459.04 // Very [STRIKE]422.25[/STRIKE] ah now 533.53

Spent £2.09 on ff&veg at greengrocers bringing the monthly grocery bill to £17.26. We are still on target for £50 spend overall this month.
Eating from the freezer tonight, fish with veggies and potatoes. We are really enjoying the challenge of being frugal and of course all the support on this thread.Pay off all your debts by Christmas 2025 no. 15 £0/69490 -

I always found that washer dryers are too much of a compromise. Not particularly good at either. It's really easy to default to cynicism these days, since you are almost always certain to be right.0 -

I always hang my washing out even in winter...if the pavements are drying then your washing will dry too. Even if it doesn't dry completely it will have dried a bit which means less drying in the tumble dryer or it can just be finished off by hanging up to air:T:T:T0 -
Had to spend a small fortune this morning in the chemist for a one time off prescription.

On the other hand, I may have more work coming to me soon. Keeping my ear to the ground for more tutoring work atm.
OH is still at home and won't be back for a few days. As I'm under the weather I'll be staying in with my purse shut!
