Maybe, but it was over 2 years ago. I would have lost money had i changed cars0 -
Today while driving to take my dog for a walk in the local woods.
1. I followed a driving instructors car with the NSR brake light not working, (he was instructing a learner driver at the time, begs the question who would be in the "kack" if they were pulled over by the Police ?).
2. A Wiltshire Council van with the OS headlight not working.
I have also noticed lately the amount of drivers that leave it to the last minuet second to dip there main beams or don't bother at all , this is on the more secluded/not so busy roads and not the main ones like duel carriageways & in town roads."Silence, Reverend Supermarket"0 -
It's because I don't have a spare bulb and refuse to pay stupid money for one at the various well known retailers. Should have a set of 4 arriving tomorrow and they cost me just £5.20........“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

Well, I carry two spares of each type of bulb used externally on the car. Why two? So that, if I have to use one, I'm still carrying a spare. I can then, in true MSE style, shop around for the cheapest replacement. If you fold it in half, will an Audi A4 fit in a Citroen C5?

Same here, I have a kit which holds one of each bulb. That means I can immediately replace blown bulbs and then source replacements at roughly the price Strider refers to.
It also helps when buying a car to make sure the bulbs are reasonably accessible.0 -
If anyone travels to France maybe other countries you have to by law carry a full set of spare bulbs - if caught without you can get charged a roadside instant fine to be on the spot.
Perhaps we should adopt this too.0 -
Have a spare set in the car, but then again I work in Europe.1. Have you tried to Google the answer?
2. If you were in the other person's shoes, how would you react?
3. Do you want a quick answer or better understanding?0 -
There isn't much excuse for it. Most cars these days have a warning light saying you have a bulb out (not that you should need that for a headlight).
My car even tells me which light it is!
While on the subject of lights, the idiots are about who drive with their rear fogs on, even when visibility is good. I followed one for about 20 miles along the M3 last Sunday and flashed away to no avail. So I overtook him (yes was an old guy) and flashed my rear fogs at him. Nope, that didn't work either. I wasn't the only one who tried it but still oblivious. Again, you would f expect that the driver should notice the warning light on the dash wouldn't you?PLEASE NOTEMy advice should be used as guidance only. I often wonder if these idiots deliberately drive with their rear fogs on - for whatever is going on in their tiny minds.
I am surprised the Police do not stop these prats more often.0 -

The other annoying thing I forgot to mention is that he was sat in the middle lane doing 60 mph!
I thought the police were clamping down on that as well!PLEASE NOTEMy advice should be used as guidance only. You should always obtain face to face professional advice before taking any action.0
