Kitty is quite settled. Eats her food and retreats behind the sofa for a couple of hours sleep.
Then it is on to the sofa for a stroke, nudging husband when he stops to read the paper.
Carried her through to see the other cats, who she growled at again..... Early days....
Granddaughter here overnight, and she was very friendly. So she is good with children.
Thanks for the advice on the fur mats.. Will try some olive oil later, and have ordered the grooming aid recommended.
So a good second day with us. I not sure she is a Molly or a Kitty, she is a cat with attitude!
Kitty's new mum reads the thread s you can see above

So glad she's loving being there, and hope that things get gradually better with the other cats.
To be fair she's had quite a bit to deal with the last few days so may well be feeling a bit edgy with all the new things and people to take in....or..as said before it's down to the tortie bit in her tail.
Hope things continue to go well.Yep...still at it, working out how to retire early.:D....... Going to have to rethink that scenario as have been screwed over by the company. A work in progress.0 -
I forgot to mention matt splitters - could be useful.Don't let the look intimidate you.
Though this is a razor-sharp instrument, it's quite safe when used properly, and when you have a tough mat you need a sharp splitter. This is used to pull up vertically thru the mat like a pik. The blade itself is never against the skin. I used it on my elderly cat and his fragile skin wasn't tugged at all. After splitting the mat multiple times, I picked it out with a comb, then followed with a brushing. Five paws-up. =^..^=0 -

She sounds a bit of a Matilda (looked up meaning - powerful battler) - she is sweet, intelligent girl that came from a place of neglect. Could shorten to Tilda... not Mattie.
Bridget / Brianna / Abriella could be shortened to Bree
Valerie also represents strength.
Boudicca (Boo); Victoria / Tori / Torianna; Wilhelmina.
Buffy; Xena (warrior princess)
7 daughters of Eve: Katrine, Xenia, Jasmine, Velda, Ursula, Tara, and Helena.
Rosa; Cleo;
Marie (Curie) Emmeline (Pankhurst) Florence (Nightingale)
So pleased you sound happy with your new cat.0 -
Today;s updateKitty is doing fine. She seems a bit stronger, getting up and down off the sofa a bit easier. The wobbley limp seems a lot better.
Eating very well, and still sleeping a lot. Surprisingly, not trying to get out of the room we are keeping her in.
Mum cat went into the room last night, and beat a hasty retreat after being growled at!
Today I started to groom her with a cat comb which she enjoyed.... Slowly working up to tackling the mats. Not seen her attempt to groom herself yet, apart from a quick lick of the face after food0 -
the so called owners, you dont even know if these people did own the cat
!!!!!!, the cat would have been dead in weeks
dont write them a letter and dont ever let the cat return there
if they are the owners, selfish pigs.0 -
The cat so clearly craves human attention, she gets it now, poor little one0

And to think,a week ago she had no idea her life was about to change so dramatically. So good to see her being cared for properly at long last.
Thanks for all the updates.0 -
Reading the updates brings tears to my eyes. Less than a week ago the only kindness she knew was Ewa spending a little time feeding and stroking her and the place she called home was a pile of bricks and a warm at engine. Now she has a family who will love and care for her and the home she's always deserved. She knows she's one lucky kitty and will love her new family all the more for it.0

Thanks for the updates. I agree - this cat is clearly unsettled and although loving the new home and regular feeds - a strange cat is going to make her feel threatened. Miss Kitty (and that's not a suggestion for name btw - that is entirely up to new owners) doesn't yet know she is 'sharing' the home. for all she knows this other cat is muscling in on what seems to her a really lovely pad! she aint sure of her territory yet!0
