It sounds like the owners are concerned enough to go round and tell people the situation - and are still looking after it to the best of their ability and as much as the cat is letting them! quite unlike the cat in question IMHO.

Yes that is true, it is not the same situation. It is a very healthy and happy cat.

First time I saw this cat over month ago.
She came to me and I stroke her and then I get to the bus.
Couple weeks later I waited for the bus with my daughter and the cat came again. That was on sunday.
And on Monday I spoke to gettigready and told her about the cat.
I fed her every day from Monday to Saturday.
On Tuesday I spoke to her owner first time.
I ask if she knows that cat and she confirmed. I told her I fed her cat because I was sure that cat is stray.
I ask why the cat looks that bad and she said because she is old and she missing to her brother.
She didn't say anything about special diet. She didn't say anything about the feeding.
Next day or day later I knocked to their door and ask again about condition of their cat. Man told me different story about this cat and he said about the special diet.
He said some people fed the cat, he said she looks that bad because she spent most of time under the van. And she lives all her life outdoor. She don't like be indoor. But from last night she is not interested to go outside. She eat a lot, drink water and sleep. She eat more than my small dog.
I reported to RSPCA this situation and I take the cat tomorrow to RSPCA clinic. If they say I'm wrong and I have to give the cat back to the owner I do this

Thank you so very much for what you have done.I really hope the RSPCA don't say you have to return it,that would be horrible.Even if they speak to the owner it doesn't mean it would be any better looked after.Heartbreaking for you AND the cat.

I think its the CAT that's important here. if the vet agrees its poor state is down to neglect, then I think Ewa and gettingready should go ahead with rehoming her. and they have my FULL support!

Any vet I know would advise that the cat is with an owner that looks after an animal in the proper way, and can't imagine that one would advocate her being left out under a car in the winter months and without adequate shelter from cold, wind, rain, snow.

Where the cat is happiest is what's important, and judging by the pics she is happy as larry in a nice warm home.......and likes pink mice over bricks.

Hope everything goes well monday for her and she's just a case of neglect rather than anything wrong medically with her.

That video of her....just like mine taking swipes at me...I knew she was gonna go for you before she did it when watching it....lol
Yep...still at it, working out how to retire early.:D....... Going to have to rethink that scenario as have been screwed over by the company. A work in progress.

^^^^^ this! and how anyone can still argue that the poor owners rights are being violated ..................is so beyond me, I cant get my head around it.

Really meritaten, it's that hard to believe? I find it hard to believe that people think they can just take a cat to rescue it when there are other options. That they can do this without advising the owner to take better care of the animal and to give them a chance to do so, and that it's OK to keep said cat based upon the fact that a vet will not advocate keeping it out in the cold. Well duh, no vet will ever say that, but that doesn't seem to matter here, does it?

I also find it hard to believe that some people will resort to personal attacks such as:
and don't be upset at some of the posts on here - some people are just here to cause trouble - they have no compassion themselves and do not understand how people can be moved by pity and a desire to help a defenceless creature!

That statement is so ridiculous that I can't believe I even read it. You don't know me or anybody else on here who disagrees with your opinions on this thread, and seem to be discounting the fact that nobody actually agrees with a cat being mistreated. The fact that we disapprove of the method and not the fact that the cat will end up happy is also being continually ignored, and the fact that we advocate giving the owners a chance to fix-up and keep their cat is just a foreign concept.

No, instead a bunch of strangers on a forum have decided to rewrite the law and deprive a couple of their cat completely instead of following another route that would end up with same cat ending up happy, with the owners keeping their cat. Prosecution, judge and jury all in one and nobody else can say anything different, because apparently the majority in this microcosm of society are correct.

I can't wrap my head around that.

Sorry but I feel owners should have not told by strangers how to look properly after their animals.

If they do not look after the kitty now, stranger telling them to change will not help.

They seen this cat in her sorry state every day and done nothing, did not see a problem/issue.

Stranger can not make anyone grow a heart if they have none in the first place.

then you cant 'wrap your head around' the fact the cat is being taken to a vet tomorrow. to ascertain whether this cat is indeed an old cat with problems (never mind its owners seem quite happy for it to live with the most horrendous matted fur). You cant wrap your head around that its not ideal for cats to live in bus shelters trying to befriend total strangers (and that is what this cat has done). You cant wrap your head around that this cat seems perfectly happy to be whisked off to live in warm comfortable surroundings.
I don't understand your mindset - and I don't want to. its alien to me.

Oh dear, wanted to make some space in my inbox and accidentally deleted ALL messages...

Will the lovely people who offered help in homing this kitty (if needed) pls PM me with a heading "home for kitty" and let me know if they will be still interested if the vet check comes up with some health issues?

Ewa is at home today and tomorrow so took the kitty in but she is going back to work on Tuesday and under no circumstances can leave kitty with her dogs alone in the flat.

So whoever offered to take kitty on needs to be able to pick her up tomorrow evening (Ewa does not have a transport).

Still - we are waiting for what the vet says tomorrow although I have a feeling we may not have the blood results back the same day.

I am covering the cost of vet/tests tomorrow and kitty has a carrier, litter box, bag of clumping litter, litter scoop, bag of dry food, several tins of cat food.

Please PM me with your offer and conditions of that offer - in case we really need it.

    Thanks a lot.

The cat I rescued/stole had amongst other problems a huge abscess in its head. No amount of talking to the neighbour made any difference, I offered to pay to have the cat treated for them. It didn't get sorted just left to fester and get worse. I got my vet to make a house-call to me and to have a sneaky look at this cat as it always hung out under my car.

Cat was possibly going to lose it's eye if not treated and soon.

I asked neighbour again about it with the excuse I was going down to vets anyway and would take theirs for them. Also whether he wanted to keep the cat was discussed.....no way did he want to give cat up. All offers of help ignored and cat wasn't treated and was becoming quite ill.

I was not about to let that cat suffer at the hands of this moron. I felt it better to re-home the cat too...rather than it being stuck in a rescue for god knows how long.

I'm also pretty sure that GR or Ewa don't go out of their way to go around kidnapping people's pets! It's simply a case of her coming across this cat, seeing it in a sorry state, and prepared to do something about it After ascertaining that the owner didn't seem concerned or interested and what was considered to be a shifty story.

It's unrealistic to believe everyone wants to look after their pet properly. This is of course how we have so many in shelters.
