    Hi
I really hope you report him to the police if he has done this to you he has done this to others and needs to be stopped. In July this year a Yodel driver was convicted of stealing from customers so you should make the complaint official so the companies pay attention and not fob you off.

What can we do in our situation though? Can we report to the police?

Our Yodel driver has even pinched our blue paper recycling bag, twice. We also had a Nilfisk pressure washer lost in transit, only item we have ever had go missing and, yes you guessed it, Yodel were the delivery company.

Very are being quite arsey really, no real help. Advising to contact Yodel, when it's them that should be doing the running. The other problem is that there's no tracking number, so even if I could get through on Yodel's phone system, I couldn't give them an item to track. It's just so suspicious.

yodel and hermes are extremly cheap compared to the medium echleon couriours like interlink.

Retailers are happy to use them because the huge savings in cost can easily offset items lost or damaged.

it is the retailers responsibility so just contact them and get them to refund you or resend.

I understand the reasoning behind why big companies use them; I just do t understand as to how Very can be so blas! on the matter, when there was no signature on Yodel's digital system and it was taken on paper (and signed for under my wife's maiden name instead of the double barrelled variation she uses), how the drive managed to load his van, drive from
Middleton to Bolton and deliver the package in under thirty minutes.

According to Google Maps, it takes 1/2hr to simply get here and we all know that traffic conditions have to be perfect to achieve the times they quote on journeys.

  • You could try contacting Yodel and provide your post code to get their side of the story, although in my experience they'll just tell you to raise it with Very. Very need to log an investigation with Yodel, Yodel will only deal with it via them not you. That's one of the most frustrating thing I encountered!

You should also ask for a copy of proof of delivery, even if it is on paper you are entitled to a copy. If you find there has been a forged signature you could pursue this as fraud and theft. That's my next step, he also stupidly put an initial as L, when neither of us have that initial and it was supposedly signed at our address! He could have just looked at the name of the recipient!!! Would your parcel have been addressed to your wives maiden name?

Yes, I think I am going to log it with them tomorrow. He could be doing it persistently. Because I was able to speak to both Yodel and the driver, I caught the driver lying red handed, otherwise It would have been communicated to me as a 'system error' and continue to happen.
