Ok, I'm home now so I can explain properly.
The doctor didn't want to give a local as it dilutes the sample. I talked him into giving me one* and so he gave me the smallest local possible I think. Why do I think that? It took ages to work and the 6th and final time he plunged the syringe in it had worn off. I said a very bad word, one of the worst ones, extremely loudly and with much vigour. So much so that when I walked out of the room everyone stared at me.
Proud of you!
Nothing like a bit of colourful language to brighten up a waiting room. You didn't call him a name did you? Have you seen the 40 Year Old Virgin? He calls the beauty therapist a very bad word. It has me belly laughing every timeEverything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

No, I told him where to go and how to get there. I think he found it funny.0 -
Better than my 'that tickles' comment last time then?
Did you get a lolly?
You're doing well Gen..
Its seriously foggy out. Yesterday I felt a little like I was in a Tim burton film because the fog didn't lift all day and it just felt weird, heavy and dark and incredibly atmospheric. Dogs appeared put of nowhere in the garden, and even the geese stayed close and went in early (my geese are ridiculous in their wandering usually) Its the kind of weather I usually really enjoy the otherness of.
This morning I have to drive to a small local town. Not looking forward to that. Its not as heavy as yesterday morning I think, but still pretty impressive. I don't articulately want to go out in it.0 -

On Wednesday afternoon OH had another Dentist session. He was under the influence of Diazepam and sound asleep in the waiting room when I went to get him - head back, mouth open - not a good look. It took a lot of coaxing to get him awake but he seemed to have some entertainment value to others waiting.
He was very unsteady and I had to prop him up to walk him back to the car. The Dentist is near a pub, and I think people sitting outside the tea rooms thought he was a drunk. I almost played up to it:).
I am not sure what they did this time, he says it hurts and is still taking paracetemol and Ibuprofen this morning. As they took a lot of money off him, I think they just drugged him and mugged him.0 -

No, unfortunately no lolly. Steak with spuds was pretty nice though even if I did overcook the steak a little. Still juicy but grey in the middle not red. Oh well.
Hopefully if they keep on doing these biopsies there'll be nothing left! I'm looking forward to finding out what this thing is in my neck.lostinrates wrote: »Its seriously foggy out. Fog is quite rare in Sydney and when it happens it's treated as if the city should go into a state of emergency with troops on the streets ready to shoot looters on sight.
It's horrible driving in fog over here. There is a tendency for tailgating at the best of times and people simply aren't used to driving in fog.
As a result they drive a few metres behind you at the same speed as usual. Dreadful.0 -
It's great living next to a waitrose.
Got lovely ham hock and camembert crepes for 10p (down from £4.17) and some Heston Blumenthal chicken dishes for tomorrow for less than 50p. Plus the usual bread and bakery products. You could live like a king at these prices. Bt there standard prices I'd be dining like a pauper.
!
That sounds delicious and very MSE.
I have a MSE ham hock in the fridge - it cost £2 from the farm shop and was destined for pea and ham or lentil soup. I think I need to be a bit more imaginative0 -
Sounds very ouch Gen.......ouch ouch!
Very foggy here this morning and I think my parents are going to have a devil of a time getting to their caravan today as the main route to the village their caravan is in, is closed because of the helicopter crash. We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -

Tail gating, no allowance for fog or weather conditions? Sounds like the West Country.
Seems to me as you come further down the a303 driving gets different. The nearest main road junction is a horrid one where, facing home, its a steep hill at the light. Its dodgy in our car whose handbrake I don't trust, its worse with a defender, when I have one from the garage or when we had the old one, because you need a little roll back room for handbrake to sit, not a lot, comfortable within normal breathing distance, say third of a wheel turn, and yet you get NOTHING.0 -

Why m if it pleases you?
We all have things we fall back on. My first thought was a tart. I make a yummy mushroom tart (you know those things which you fall back on so often you can knock them out in your sleep and people still are happy?)' which would convert a nice ham and leek one.
(Dh's grandmother used to make a split pea soup he remembers really fondly, I wish I had the recipe for him.)
I am following dog dog around with a uripet and she just will NOT comply.0 -

Did you see this when it happened?

The fog was only here yesterday morning for us. We had another glorious day yesterday. It looks a little hazy right now, but still feels sunny.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.
