Boo! It must be so tough on fir too - I bet he really wanted to go along with you. Having said that, I think I'd find the uncertainty the worst bit of it :(

Yep, its the 'weekend or no weekend' up to the last. Its because they are so understaffed still, there is just no wriggle room. DH is working flat out normal days so closings or anything just are too much. Because he's still learning bits in this area as he goes he's also doing twice the amount of work for the result IYSWIM, having to familiarise himself with stages of process and how it could be applied...so doing frustrating amounts of reading because there is no person for him to turn to for day to day 'what d'ya do when,....' Sort of as you run questions.

I have a feeling I'll be able to sympathise much more effectively with him by the end of the year (completely different tasks, obv, but the rest of it sounds largely like what is about to happen but with a bit of added 'old process is out of the window and we don't know what the new process is yet so how are you going to shape it?' excitement. I am anticipating a fair amount of  moments

Gen, good luck tomorrow with the biopsy. I don't think you will, but something to think about... will you need stitches? If you do, it may be worth looking out a shirt or two with a grandad style collar so that it doesn't rub your kneck. My tumour was removed from my arm and the worst bit was the scar on clothing (even through a dressing), as I twisted my arm it would rub, or feel like rubbing. Also, if you wear a lanyard for ID at work, it may be worth looking at whether you can get a badge style holder instead.

Hope you don't mind me saying that. I've had another mole removed from my neck too and found that most lanyards are fine but wide ones rub, even now.

Thank you ladies. It's today as we're 11 hours ahead.

Last time the biopsy was done with a needle so shouldn't need stitches.

It's a glorious day today. If you were ever going to have a bonus day off, this is the day to do it.

Our chain is complete. Our vendors are buying a probate sale so just two properties. Pressure already on from the EA to get moving - they obviously want their fee!

DH waited till ambulance arrived ( very quickly)

    Good on your DH.

I was cycling behind a woman en route to work yesterday. A taxi driver opened his door as she passed. It hit her foot and she stopped 20-30 yards further on. She was pretty shaken up and her foot was really bleeding very hard; she couldn't walk at all so eventually she agreed that I could ring the ambulance for her to get her checked out.

I just hope that if I ever need assistance, someone will do that for me rather than just walk on by.

By the way, the taxi driver decided to drive off in the opposite direction. Just as well I got his taxi plate, then...
I still have a scar and a changed shape of nail bed from Bombay duck (RIP) for. When I had to medicate her.

The thing that cannot be underestimated is the strength and muscle of a fit feral. I cannot remember how much Bombe weighed but......a Bomb! and she was hard and up giving like a boxer, quick and cunning. Poor frightened girl.

Fwiw, I wouldn't try and nurse another feral. I miss bombe, but we copnsidered feral rehomes and decided against it. We have looked at a few semi ferals, but I'm not that keen either. I feel we 'should' but ATM I also feel keen not to bog myself down with more that I 'should' do. Selfish, but practical.

Mum's had still bears the scar from introducing the puppy dog to the cat, who was singularly unimpressed and (successfully) struggled to get out of her clutches!

Our first cat's mother was feral / a farm cat, we think. He used to go off for periods, and eventually we think he found a better plate of tuna elsewhere. It was hard at the time but I guess it's what you sign up for with that sort of cat background.

    Well it's ...tomorrow.

    ...

I'm hoping to meet FiL afterwards for lunch as it's near his place. Then I can feel an afternoon of indolence coming on.

Will be thinking of you Gen; hope the local really does its job, it's over soon, and you manage to enjoy lunch / indolence.

Thanks. There's a pub round the corner from the place I'm going to that does jelly wrestling on a Friday night! It's been made clear that going there would be an indulgence too far.

I'm still making my way through the pre read so I'm sure you're ahead of me. It's been a busy week. I think (hope) it's going better than I thought it might, but there is still plenty of potential for the rest of this year to be very tough indeed. We shall see.

Lemonjelly - did you decide not to go with the surveyor suggested by the solicitor?
I skipped some of the pre-reading, as I've already read all 3 books (highly recommended nice peeps!). I've just done the first 2 videos of week 1. So far, I'm glad I only viewed 1 house! It reminded me of when I try to buy new trainers.:D Twice in my life I tried, couldn't decide on a pair from too many options, & ended up buying several pairs instead!:o

nowadays, I regularly ask someone to get me a pair at christmas. My default/opt-out version!:p

I've written to the solicitor asking whether they will be doing the full survey, or whether I need to arrange my own.

I think I still feel I need to be doing something!
DH bought a rare recording on ebay this week. He has only seen in once before and it shot up to the hundreds. This one he was only bidder and got for 99p.

I said, well, its rare, but...is it any good, he said, I don't know, well, of course it will be, but that's not the point. I just am not a natural collector like him but I am very happy for him.

Otoh, YET again! the weekend is threatened. He had Monday off to come to an appointment with me but now something at work is coming to a crescendo and that looks unlikely. Pretty annoying.
Always exciting, getting an ebay purchase like that. Hope FIR loves it & it is a complete bargain!:T

I think there's no chain here. Not heard off the EA apart from when I sent them ID & solicitor details (shrug smiley).
It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.

Maybe save it for home or for when Leon is actually out?
