If I had such a beautiful head board I think I'd find it hard to turn it into a gate. But......I do have a gold one that's a sort of an arkward hanger on in sparkly corner. I don't know whether the gold (or the metal) would be weather proof. But......I feel its time for a change.0 -
I work for a large organisation, and cannot drop any anecdotes. It is a confidentiality and public confidence thing.
I joined as a Temp, and chose it over a financial services job as it was easier to get to from the motorway.
After a couple of weeks I realised how much I loved the product, and really felt I could make a difference. Most days I still feel the same. I look forward to Mondays.
The Shakespeare anecdote happens frequently. It's one of those things that you get. I would not be able to recount a lot of the other stuff. I think my job is very different to yours though. A lot of what people tell us then becomes the basis of a recommendation for someone else. It has to, we couldn't possibly know all those books.
Plus as I've said before in another anecdote, I learned the story of Macbeth from an 8 year old who read it to me during the Summer Reading Challenge. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Assuming it's not actually made of gold (:)) - could you try to find some gold weatherproof paint?
Unrelated, but this really amused me earlier (mainly Balls and Osborne): Why was David Cameron not wearing headphones?

After all the cleaning talk yesterday, I've realised that I most likely have a visitor tomorrow. And one who hasn't had the Grand Tour yet. Good excuse to turn Dance Anthems/ Annie Mac up and try to make the place look a bit less like a student house! :eek:0 -

Are you going to make a pie?
I'm seeing lots of gates I like the look of on Internet more than my bed head now.
Its all just getting so exciting that a part of my garden will be ready to roll on this summer.0 -
Has anybody been watching Permission Impossible on BBc2 this week? It's "the planners" that was on last year, renamed and been on every day this week.
It's just bizarre. The planning process, planning committee members and things the general public say are just weird. Weird.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

I find things some trades say weird. I have had a nightmare about placing these air units (hideous things) because they need good flow of air. I don't want to see them, Turns out not having a fence up infront of them doesn't mean 'not having a fence up in front of them. I can have something the architect cleared with them and they were totally, yeah.. No problem.
Well.......that would have saved me some stressfilled nights..

A month ago I would have agreed with you but in the last few weeks I have seen things go on at 100-150k (20-30%) more than similar sales last year and be under offer within a week or two, it will be interesting to see if the mortgages go through.
Yup, someone at work buying (trying!) a flat in London (not most fashionable area). asking 225,000 offered 249,000 (stamp duty) and was gazumped. :eek:0 -
Why do things, especially computers, break all the time - earlier this week I fitted new graphics card to the main 24/7 PC as it had stopped working and today the main HD failed (I wonder how much was not backed up - guess I will never know). Luckily we had a PC in the bedroom that we had been using as a media player but had replaced with a smart box that I am using temporarily as main PC but I will need a new HD perhaps it is time to get a small SSD and will need to re-install everything of course. I keep meaning to set up a raid server in the loft but the cost always puts me off.I think....0

Yes! Really enjoyed that. I've caught the last couple. As for that bloke's obsession with the pipeline tonight and women in hot tubs, weird. The one I was glad I was not on the committee for was the church vs industrial unit one. I could see that both could be valuable to the community. Very tough.
Did they say it is on again next week? Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing?
