No - not done and dusted. No updates yet (either way).

Assessment centre went ok. Not sure I really shone, but I think I came across alright. Bit of a grilling towards the end, but when they made it clear what they were looking for, I emphasized how I met that! It was a good group of people I was with, and we all got on really well, so I had a good day.

Just have to see. You don't know what they're looking for etc.

Hope you get the nod. Is it a job you desperately want or one of a number you have applied for? I always think interviews etc are good experience even if I don't get through as you find out what to say next time if you ask for feedback and the more you do the less nervous they make you.

One of the things they look for in ours is how well the candidates interacted with each other as it's a decent indicator of whether they would function in a team or sit in the corner being anti social and difficult (I didn't get my job through an assessment centre...)- sounds like you will have ticked that box if they do the same!

Elsewhere has disappeared jelly. You may have to PM if that's ok.

    Hope it went well.

I've been to many assessment centers and never - not even once - been offered a job from one. I just don't think I am the kind of person that people who recruit from assessment centers wants. I'm not anti-social, but I am an introvert and quiet and I don't shine in scenarios that are really designed for extroverts.

And, actually, I think the recruitment process is often pretty dismal really. *shrugs*

I solved it by going self employed:D But I've been looking for a proper job for the last few months, and am being drawn back to self employment just to avoid all the hassle :D Honestly, I think I've no longer got the attitude that makes for good employees...

On the carpet cleaning debate... it's never taken me more than an hour to vacuum an entire house. Normally a lot less than that. What are those guys doing in all that time?

This is NOT a joke. I once asked RP to quicklyvaccum before someone was due in half an hour. Now me? I'd race through and do all the floors....

RP? RP decided to .......vacuum the walls with an upholstery brush. :rotfl:

Now, I agree, its worth doing but when you are doing a spruce up because someone is coming and the floors are rather agricultural is NOT the time.....or is that just me? :D

Tomterm, you come across very well here. Do you think your new bod will have an impact on employers opinions or even your opinion of how others view you and be a positive thing? What sort of job are you looking for? Are you still writing?

(I wanted to apply for a job in the new stone henge gift shop but realistically couldn't commit. I think it would have been such a fun little job though)

Would you like to send them over here? There is plenty of 'quick cleaning' to be done!
