Yes, I did. Its just a habit :o

I thought Rudimental/ Ella Eyre was the best performance by far. Her hair is incredible!

When Prince appeared at the start, I thought it was a lookalike. I would have loved to have seen him in some of the teeny weeny places he's been playing in London. I saw him at one of his o2 gigs a few years back. A-ma-zing.

I was texting when that happened with Arctic Monkeys. They do tend to come across as too cool for school. But I still like them. (Edit: meant to type that I was texting so I missed them being jerks!)

Rudimental were fab. That was my favourite performance of the night and she has got fab hair. In fact, I think its my favourite Brits performance since Dizzee Rascal and Florence and the Machine.

DH gets some really nice corporate stuff. My favourite are little paperclips in the shape of aeroplanes from Boeing. Most corporate gifts are naff mind. I do like the pens though. Means never having to buy my own. I'd like to get olive oil like silver. That would be very practical.

I thought the 'duets' this year were really badly done - they were more like cut and shuts than proper collaborations. The individual acts were fine but the way they were put together just didn't add anything.

I've got a little aloe plant that I got from Ingeus as a conference freebie. Love it!

I did hear on the radio that the one with Lorde had very limited rehearsal. Really enjoyed the Bastimental one, yes it was cut and shut, but it was the best cut and shut, and of two songs that I really like:o.

I think that was the problem though. at worst I like the songs (3 of them I really like and 1 I just like), I think it would have done them much better justice to have not 'mashed' (certainly weren't proper mash ups) them together. I'd have rather they e.g. ditched Katy Perry if it was a time thing! :)

Did anyone else watch the Brits tonight?

I enjoyed it in the main, the music was up my street, except the Arctic Monkeys, who came across as jerks. Though I love Emeli Sande for picking up the microphone that they dropped.

I enjoyed it. I think Lorde's got a great future. And Rudimental and Daft Punk are brill.

When I first arrived in London TimeOut did a Student guide that gave the main music venues and they were legion. Seen Moby and the B-52s at Wembley before the kids came and since then had to mainly enjoy non-live music.

Masomnia, don't forget to attend some concerts while you're back studying, in that place where you are.

One thing I enjoy about living in big cities is the potential choice of music. The biggest bands will do London, Birmingham, Manchester and Glasgow. When I lived in a place Nikkster knows I had to travel to places like Oxford and Aylesbury to see concerts (London was just too far).
