I'm in Cardiff and the wind is billowing.
One of those social media conundrums. I have the car here and am going back tomorrow hopefully. Trains are bad, so I could post on facebook that I have room for passengers, but even restricting the post to friends, that will mean I could end up with friends of friends wanting lifts. I would want to be helpful, but 3 hours in a car with someone I don't know leaves me a tad vunerable.
In the bad snow a few years ago DH and I took an old man home....not three hours, more like 45 mins.
I'd be happy to take friends of friends personally, but not friends of friends. If the friends of friends of friends came a long I'd say 'places gone, sorry!'
Fwiw, ion e east of where you are its really not so bad DH says. His train took longer and a funny route, but it got in no problems.0 -
Absolutely not. I think it's against the rules unless you're out bush. They can't be sure who's on the phone. In bush areas I suspect that pragmatism has to win out hence the difference.
That's interesting. My local GPs are happy to do that, and we are definitely not out in the bush. I guess that different countries must have different rules, or even different surgeries. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -

I think there is a difference in wood houses in places with hot dry and crucially longer summers too that can generally dry them out. Still. Florida....hot and humid. Wood abounds.....but it is drier, warmer.
Some of the alternatives aren't Eco friendly either..... Concrete is hardly a great green solution.
Simple things like landscape application of the plaster board makes sense in most builds thinking about it, any one can have a washing mashine or water pipe leak.0 -

I guess it would be un-PC to suggest hollowing them out and turning them into pedaloes. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

Probably only Her Maj is allowed to do that.0 -

Maybe we could just piggy back and ride them?
Just bad in from afternoon rounds.
Failed in bringing wood in sadly, but have enough from what DH brough in for tonight. Sadly woodburner is chomping through fuel today.
There is a band of rain just north of here so thick it looks like heavy chain curtains from the sky. Really heavy ribbons.0 -

Pop corn.
So, presumably, does that mean corn's OK too?0
