It's later as in another day. He doesn't know when.
I'm off to work but it's about the last place I want to be right now.
I'd have thought if you don't feel up to it you have a good enough excuse, however I would probably want as much distraction as possible from any sort of thinking if it were me.I think....0 -
Oh, and that training thing said that if it's a phone conversation you use some concentration picturing the other person. Not so convinced by that one.
Well, I certainly don't, but then I have a very unvisual mind. I read that conversations concerning anything with some kind of spatial thinking are much more distracting than conversations about other things.I went to the doctor. No results, I have to go back later.
Oh pants. So sorry. Hope they get their act in gear soon. All the research suggest it is not car control that is the problem but distraction, thus even hands free phone calls are an issue, conversation with a passenger is not as they react to your concentration on driving increasing and stop talking.
Precisely. The passenger generally does this IF they are older than about 12. Not otherwise.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -

If its is something bad then I'll need my sick leave so better to go in.
The way things stand I have 20 days sick leave and 30 days holiday accrued. It takes 3 months for my sickness pay insurance to kick in so the way things stand I'd only have about a month to go unpaid before that kicks in. Even then I get welfare for that month.
I'd be better off on sick insurance than in work as I wouldn't have childcare to pay.
Anyway I've got someone coming from Hong Kong to see me today (and others, he's not just here for me!).0 -

I stayed up a bit later when I heard your news was imminent. While I can't 100% promise you that Leon is benign, their being late is hopefully a good thing. Generally anything which has C as the differential diagnosis is given the highest priority. Having been in that situation myself, I found that if they weren't sure and getting a second opinion you tend to be told that, rather than their saying results are a bit late.
Waiting sucks. I hope it's not too long. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

!!!!!! that you couldn't get the result today but, when you do get it, I'm sure it'll be the result you want. There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -

That's quite touching!
I think that the problem is that I listened to the doctor at the diagnostic place. Doctors never have a clue about how long stuff takes. So back to waiting. Damn.0 -

Damn indeed. You'd think they might appreciate that there is a certain level of anticipation for results... Anyhow, it is obviously out of your control, so nothing else you can do but go with it.
Still sending you many best wishes. Joined today by best wishes for zag's DD, my friend's mum who is going in for a hip replacement, and my Dad's MRI scan (though don't think there will be results yet as biopsy next week). Here's hoping for good things all round.0 -
That's one of the nice things about the NPT Gen. In addition to nattering about the meaning of life as it pertains to mushrooms etc, we do genuinely care about you and want to know you are ok. This is something the NP does for everyone in their hour of need, as I found out at Christmas waiting for my results.
It reminds me of the three musketeers motto... all for one, one for all.
On that subject,I want to also check in on wheezy and make sure he is ok this morning. Here's hoping that the flood water remains away from his property.
Also sending thoughts to the other NPs facing challenges today. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? The best part of the A303 is in Somerset. Once you are past Mere and whizzing up Tinkers Hill towards Wincanton you are usually past the queues.....then after the Ilminster by-pass you are virtually in Devon before the next bottleneck.
I have a soft spot for Yeovil, they will get relegated no doubt this season, but just being in the Championship is an amazing feat. The war memorial in Yeovil is the only one where I have ever seen my surname, (even though my fathers side of the tree is all Welsh valleys for several generations), but my mothers side is all south Somerset.
Jacob Rees-Mogg...................no comment 'In nature, there are neither rewards nor punishments - there are Consequences.'0
