Slap bang in the middle of all that red colour on the environment agency maps. :(

A bit closer to the Thames in our village, people had the police knocking on the door to notify of eventual evacuation.

We're a bit higher up, so we should be ok.
And it's pouring down again. :(

Sorry to hear that, wheezy. Hope the water doesn't rise too much.

So sorry to hear that Wheezy. I was thinking of that cluster of NP who are near the thames. Is it you, chewy and zag?

I hope that you are all ok. With a bit of luck they will sandbag closer to the river and you will be fine. Gen's right though, get stuff upstairs. Also, if you have airbricks, you can buy some special covers to go over them so that the water doesn't come into your house. If you can't get those in time, get yourself a roll of waterproof tape and cover them up early. That will give a few additional extra inches of buffer hopefully.

I'm a bit higher up which is a relief. Still lots of places which are flooded. Not sure where Chewie was last. I think he'd moved but not sure how close to the water..

Just made a little next on the sofa for a rest. Sun has come out and we could do something buit I'm shattered now. :(

I'm sat next to the radiator with a hot water bottle up my jumper.

(I'm catching up with some reading at home, not in the office!)

Hope you have a better afternoon than morning.

I'm in the sofa with lappy investigating airbrick covers. I should be working, oh well. :)

Westie curled up next to me, probably dreaming about some !!!!! in heat because he makes yipping noise - as if he barks in his sleep - difficult to explain.

Wheezy, I've found another good site, this one's from Australia, but good ideas re protecting baths and toilets for little money. Also using duct tape to seal yourself in round doors etc..

I've moved operations upstairs to my bedroom so I can keep an ear on youngest as he is sleeping....so I took advantage and am sitting on my bed with my duvet over!
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

It's turned into a lovely day here. Blue Skies and mild. Just weird.

Trying to keep calm here. With parent who is literally reading the daily mail headline, that foreign aid should be used to help every single flood risk property here, and can't see anything at all wrong with that.

Drove the length of the M4 and saw lots of lakes that should have been fields. West Bank of the Severn looked quite sandy, but the island under the middle of the bridge was submerged.

Moving on to safer subjects like smoking in cars with kids.

Thinking of Gen,: thoughts and prayers with you along with touching wood and fingers crossed.

My parents would say the same silver. There's only so much banging your head against the wall you can do. They save up the stories to share with me. I can't wait. Still, the guides to apps that they had last week were quite useful for finding things for parents that they may like on their tablets... Made for safer discussion too. Plus of course you can get an app to have your Daily Mail on your tablet.

Our neighbours over the road read the Mail, we know because they mentioned seeing us in it....but they are that sort of people. They have 4 cars (x5, s4 cabrio, treet ka and punto) and don't use their drive or garage and one day daughter parked hers half way across our drive making it pretty much impossible for us to get in and out then went out with her mates all day not leaving the key. I'm afraid I was so annoyed I rang the council and she got ticketed. Now they no longer talk to us.
    I think....
