Can't he take the train? Or do the drums need to come home too?
Standard of living: 89, total crime rate 36.2
a lot worse within a mile of us.
Wrong son, middle son has the drums.
We are picking him up as he has rather a lot of stuff to bring back plus his joints are pretty bad at the moment, so trying to cross London with bags would be not only difficult but also blooming painful...although I could be a sadist and tell him to suffer, especially if he gives me loads of washing to do :rotfl:We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -

Nice early night for me, I think - it feels like it's been a long, hard week.
I'm sure you still look gorgeous(I am very close to a bus stop hard , but an not drunk).
Sounds like next week will also be hard work, ndg. Enjoy your early night. I'm looking forward to bed too... Been tied all week. And I've changed the bed clothes so its all nice and clean0 -

Whereas he loves it...just goes to show how boring it is here if he finds a place like that exciting.

We face the under stairs cupboard about twice a year. Horrid job. Its because we lob stuff in there In emergency situations. I cannot get in there because of the nature of the lobbed stuff, which annoys me. I get annoyed when the house is unworkable for me alone.
DH has been home since half eight. He was on the phone when I picked him up and is still on the phone now. He's trying to call someone in Europe who if there will be working even later. I've been trying to work out what his trousers are, then realised these loose tan things were his slightly lewdly skin tight moleskins some weeks ago.
He has looked up, and said,....promise, no more weight off...I'm going bigger now. Phew.0 -

Is it that blue dress you had on in bath? I loved that! Simple and lovely and fresh, very nice and suited your colouring so nicely.
I'm wearing the stained jumper still, and socks and knickers.. Last word in glam..........I better go and sort that out actually.....

I hope FIR enjoys a full 2 weeks off, totally uninterrupted by the office. You did mention he's feeling a bit burnt out which is understandable considering the stress of work but the added stress of the house renovation and generating the surplus income to do it too.
We are both burning out a bit too now with similar things but my new roof will be finished tomorrow (yay!) and it didn't rain during the work (double yay!)...but omg, our house is cold with draughts coming in all over the place.PasturesNew wrote: »Another odd one's come onto the market..... in new preferred area. Semi, 3 beds - so bigger than I'd want/like. New build 2008, four were built, all sold at £247k.
2 distinct/absolute parking spaces off road in the front garden; side entrance to rear garden that gets the sun. Separate kitchen and lounge (bit of a nuisance/stairs between them).
On for £170k.
So now I am too scared of it as it's so much cheaper than the original sold land registry price, two others have also been for sale in the last year, not showing as sold on LR, so I am wondering if they're all rented out ..... not much arson/sexual assault/robbery/burglary in the area, but the rear garden could do with beefing up re security as the fence backs onto a parking area.
Budget would leave cash for a small shed and frugal conservatory (£3-4k)
Houses are sold all the time for various reasons and all 4 could have been bought at the top of the market for BTL and the owners now want to sell as the BTL game wasn't for them after all. It is hard I know....as too pricey frets one but then one drops the budget and so 'too cheap, what's wrong with it ' feeling crops up.PasturesNew wrote: »This is what's wrong with the world of work - some mornings you just need a late start without the fear of the sack, so you have to choose between phoning in sick or dragging yourself in to be ineffective for a whole day.
It's a hard one if you are employed but one of the myths about the self employed is that we can have time out whenever we want. In theory, it's true but we have no-one else to drop our workload onto nor holiday / sick pay etc.
It took OH's mother about 25 years to 'get' that we couldn't just stop to spend a day with her...she didn't understand that not having a boss didn't mean one could just stop work whenever one felt like it.PasturesNew wrote: »What's your standard of living value? This map looks handy.
By clicking on it, my preferred area has 2-3 different colours and values. The area I am currently looking at has a Quality of Life value of 29... but I can see that two areas 2-3 streets away have a much higher value.
1] Click here: http://illustreets.co.uk/explore-england/
2] Find your area/street. Zoom in and click on it.
It also gives "Total Crime Rate", which says 138
"It has a low standard of living rank, due to its deprivation levels as recorded in the Indices of Deprivation 2010, and a very high crime rate, although with the latter you should also consider whether the location is a city centre or a touristic area, in which case high crime figures are to be expected."
Well....our score is 37 + 123.8 and I feel safe 99.9% of the time. We have never been burgled here in all 17 years (though they could have looked through the windows and decided not to bother) and I wouldn't worry about walking down the st late at night.
Go view in real life and have a wander about.0 -
