I like Leon, good choice of name, though I would politely suggest that an icepick should not be preferred method of removal. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

Especially not via the back of the skull given that Leon is just below my right ear. It would be like being operated on by Jeremy Clarkson!
I'm very glad to be going through the Aussie medical system: I have had some out of pocket expenses but I'm being seen once a week because, so far, I've not let this interfere with work.
Now I'm going to force the pace so take some time off if I need to do so.
I suspect that if I was living in London then I'd be clogged up with the 6 months wait for the next appointment lark.0 -
She thinks it's a Warthins Tumour, a benign tumour. She told me to Wiki it. It'll need cutting out.
The alternatives are very bad. Unlikely though.
I don't know if you are on the same path as DS2. He had a blood test that showed it wasn't C. Then he went to see a consultant who said it was a gland rather than a cyst. So I doubt the blood test told us anything.
His glands were "up" anyway, from a recent bout of tonsilitis, so he's going back in a few weeks.
In the mean time DS2 had searched the web and said it is very, very unlikely to be anything serious. So hopefully the same is true for you Gen.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. To clarify where I am:
- I had some trouble hearing so went to the GP. Nothing found so sent away.
- A small lump appeared so I went back. No pain. Was sent for ultrasound.
- Ultrasound found that the lump was, as I suspected all along, a lump. I was given an initial 'diagnosis' (guess) that it was a cyst
- An attempt to remove the 'cyst' today resulted in a diagnosis change for Leon. Leon is now a tumour.
- Some of Leon has been removed to see whether Leon is a horrid tumour or a nice one. In the meantime I've been told it's a nice one. Whether that was to make me feel relaxed or because that's a genuine opinion remains to be seen.
So far the only pain I've suffered has been in trying to find out what Leon is. Leon is remarkable only for not hurting.0 -

To be honest, in my view the chance of this being anything serious is about the same as the chance of me suddenly being able to sing nessun dorma without it sounding like a fox mating.
But it doesn't stop him worrying, obviously and naturally. In the meantime I've been told it's a nice one. Whether that was to make me feel relaxed or because that's a genuine opinion remains to be seen.
The doctor might be wrong, but he/she won't lie even to reassure you. It's their honest opinion.“The ideas of debtor and creditor as to what constitutes a good time never coincide.”

It used to be normal for Doctors to lie to their patients AIUI.
We'll see what's wrong with me. I might be at Death's door or perhaps have something like a cold of the neck, time will tell.
I am a little scared though despite the fact that I shouldn't be.0 -

Good. Hoping for the best for you.It used to be normal for Doctors to lie to their patients AIUI.
Absolutely. But that's definitely a "used to be" rather than an "is".Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -
Just back, have n't read. Caught the word croissants in passing...they are easy Gen, I bake them for guests some times ...but it it will put you off eating them...because reading and knowing the butter content isn't the same as baking it if you see what I mean. Every time I get a hankering I try and invite people for a night so I can bake some to put me off
. Problem is, home made are off course.....better than even the best bought.
Supper, not pets on the guinea fowl. We had to drive miles and miles to get somewhere very close by. Everywhere is minorly flooded but lots of road closires. a few small landslides on minor roads too. Its been more flooded, it lots of the flooded places but not perhaps as widespread....I.e. lots more places but lower water in deep places. It seems everyone is wanting ion the show!0 -

Yeah, it did. But then people got the right to get copies of their medical notes, and started to sue/complain if the doctor did lie.
These days they don't lie, on pain of a huge malpractice suit that the insurance company won't cover because of conditions.“The ideas of debtor and creditor as to what constitutes a good time never coincide.”
