You're almost certainly right.
What I hadn't realized until yesterday was that she'd delayed hospitalization for 2 weeks! It looks like there is some damage to her heart as a result.
Both her and FiL's attitude seems to be that this is stuff that is just happening to them, that they are passengers in life. The knee problems, diabetes and heart disease are all related to the fact that they eat too much sugar, salt and fat. Mrs Generali does exactly the same thing. This is her life in 20-30 years.
Well, she's hanging on through a pretty tough period of mental health, right?
If she's keeping herself together for now, sometimes that's all one CAN do Generali sweet.
The sweet might be doing for her 'blood chemistry' what her body ain't in happiness for all we know.
You're active, your kids are active, even if she's less active than you guys but comes along sometimes she'll be doing better than she would otherwise.0 -

Did you get any of the charcchiere? Did you get let in themist and kiss in forgotten feeling calle?Zag,did Mrs Zag like it? Happy Birthday Mrs Zag.
Can you tell us what you saw/did, just so we can ooh and ahhh and relive the experience.
My parents were from Dublin, both of my sisters are Dublin born. Parents were economic migrants, and mum moved over to join my dad whilst expecting me.
Mrs Zag seemed very happy. We enjoyed a business lounge on the way out and three seats between two of us on the way back.
We used the ferry to get from the airport and back and the day ticket on the waterbuses. Went as far as the lido and found the Billa supermarket that a good poster mentioned. Gorgous pastries based on limoncello. Had different very reasonable meals of pasta, pizza and neither. Got served in one cafe that pulled the shutters down duriong our meal and treated us really well. Actually everybody was pleased to see us- bit of a slow period. Very many Chinese tourists everywhere celebrating their new Year.
No gondolas. We were in the Dorsoduro ( the hotel was very weird but lovely and had very crooked steps ) and visited a nice square nearby and did the Guggenheim and the secret tour of the Doges Palace. And just walked our feet into mere stumps.
Most impressive thing was that it was all like you see in the movies. I've friends I've stayed with in New Orleans and only a bit of it is like the movies, and my mate in Hawaii says, well you wouldn't want to know! :eek:There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -

What?! I didn't like curry until I went to Balsall Heath. That curry house burned down, I think, or I'd send you there for conversion. That said, we are spoiled with good restaurants.
You must like something in a curry house? It's such a social thing here? It's hard to avoid going for a curry with friends.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

That's so sad. But it's not too late for Mrs Gen to change? Dietary change is very hard to do though - I'm currently battling raised cholesterol level but not very well.I'm finding it very hard in winter, I want hot meals and stew and crave things like suet pudding and syrup (I've managed to not do that last one!
). It's much easier to eat a light diet in summer. But am getting to enjoy some of the oily fish (trout with almonds yum yum!) and that can be a hot meal. Current fave treat is kippers for Sunday breakfast, though we seem to be out of them at the mo - need to get my fish order in again this week. (we buy fresh fish from Cornwall and freeze it as soon as it arrives, fresher than from any fishmonger near to us)
What's the oily fish situation in Oz? Presumably there's something over there that you might be able to source? Of course no good if you hate fish!0 -

Speaking as someone who grew up in Scotland I wonder if the curries in Birmingham and the Black Country are like the Bangladeshi /Sylhet style common in London (Bajhias for starters, Phaals for hot dishes) or the Punjabi North Indian type found in Glasgow (pakoras for starters, Tindaloo for hot dishes).:DThere is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -
What career should you have had...
http://www.buzzfeed.com/ashleyperez/what-career-should-you-have
You got: Vice President
You are a doer, you know how to get things done. You’re half analytical, half big thinker, which is what makes you so valuable to any team. You love a good challenge, and are excited by possibility. Go get ‘em, tiger because at this point you’re pretty much unstoppable. Other occupations: engineer.0 -

Doesn't have to be .All the evidence about life extension and restricted diets seems to indicate there is no cutoff age after which the benefits will not kick in, and that life extension can be applied at any age, even in quite mature people.
I get my students to use the website livingto100.com (I've reported this before) and take notes on the results, and the advice for life extension. There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0
