Water use is something we have to consider over here a lot more than in the UK.
With so much coastal, maybe the answer would be to start running two water pipes into houses - sea water for showers/baths/loos - and proper water for kitchens and bathroom sinks.

Before I'd looked at the picture, I'd envisaged a sink with a switchable pipe, so you could choose to decant the water from the sink into the cistern, or not.

You can probably not imagine what women do with bathroom sinks.... but it might, say, include bleaching a bra and knickers white, or dying same/or a T shirt in any colour of the rainbow.

Then there's tooth brushing, armpit shaving, foot washing ......

    All sorts of things.

I use mine to wash beach glass in mild bleach/water .....

And hairwashing is popular in sinks. And hair dye.

I've washed/left crocs in mine .... and rinsed/wiped down my walking shoes after coming in from muddy grass outside.

For hand washing clothes you'd probably use the sink in your laundry and for washing hair etc you'd probably use the one in your bathroom not your toilet.

More space. We have a very small house by Aussie standards yet still have a separate laundry and a separate toilet/bathroom combo.

I find the over-ernest MFW scary. A bit like a dieter turning anorexic.

Plus mathematically it makes more sense to build up a pension at a younger age, than clear a mortgage and then start a pension.

I wonder about the implications of the consistent raising of the pension age on the pension industry.

Is it worth saving into up to the age of 70, when you may only realise benefits for a very short period of time?

I definitely need to balance out my desire to be mortgageless with the other things I could/ should be doing with the money. Not posting on the savings board didn't stop me being a keen saver anyway!

Pension-wise, before this job I think I accumulated about £500, so I can look forward to the princely sum of £2.50-ish a year from that. I'm now putting in as much as gets matched. That'll have to do for now.

Actually pn is rights IMO hand washing bras and delicate lacey knickers and very fine denier tights/ stockings is most convenient to do in your bathroom as you strip them off I find, even through you shouldn't I leave them to soak sometimes while I bath.

Actually if I am pretty clean sometimes I wash them in my bath water and rinse them in the sink.

Surely in oz there are still one bed flats in say sydney central, with one bathroom, no separate loo?

Edit...tbc, I don't soak my knickers in the bath while I am bathing! I have some limits!

We Put in all or most of dh's pay rise this year plus his measly percentage contribution. Its still not a satisfactory amount but we were panicking as they announced the opportunity to do this through work scheme, (previously not possible) at just the wrong time for the businesses financial year.

Edit: oh I remember now, it had nothing to do with business financial year, it was a one day decision to decide for the next year of THEIR financial year.......then they took payment starting the next month so all the calculations we'd made are wrong any how. They are PITA, their financial year is not tax year, nor is it the annual pay scale date or grrrrrr

    Sounds apt description. :).

There was IMO offensive posting about some (admittedly awfully sounding) brethren neighbours on the relationships forum recently and it really amazed me that no one said that it was offensive. :(

I don't go there. Too scary. There be dragons...

I have missed the beginning. :(. If I'd known I'd have watched the eating a spoon of food to declare a winner thing in an hour.
