I also question whether the extra longeveity these fasting diets bring is worth it - if you extend your life by 2/7ths but spend 2/7ths of every week feeling miserable, weak and hungry just what is the point?
I dispute whether it is really as bad as that. For no good reason, I decided not to eat anything for a 60 hour period this week. I really just wanted to know whether I could. I need to get my weight down a bit, and want to establish whether I have the willpower to do that. This seems as good a test as any. I have no present intention of repeating the exercise.
I also read an article about a Roman Catholic monk who regularly fasts, in his case up to 5 days. I reckon that I ought to be able to manage half that.
I started on Monday evening, so that is 48 hours so far, and I feel absolutely fine. Not weak and hungry at all. I felt a bit hungry on Tuesday at lunchtime, but not since then. I do feel a bit empty, but my blood sugar's normal. I have been drinking plenty of water and coffee. All that has happened is that I have reduced very slightly the energy reserves that I carry around with me!No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -

You do stop being hungry.
There are people who do it a different way and eat calorie restricted every day, in a sort of cultish way they have depressing dinner parties where the food is planned to be optimal health as well as very low calorie.
I'm just not like that as a person. I'm all or nothing in many things. I don't think its healthier (in fact I think moderation in all things if contentment is found in that is probably the very healthiest) but I am fed up of fighting who I am. I think ultimately THAT is unhealthy too.
So, one has to find a way to make it work for one as best as they can.0 -

I'm sorry. I saw that, then didn't connect with your other post. Do they have to destroy the parquet when lifting it?
I thought it would be destroyed by lifting. Plumber says lifting it out is easy, the hard bit is getting it back after pipes have been removed and/ or relayed. Would be OK if these were quite new as we could get the lot sanded, varnished and sealed again. Well, not just that, but you might, for example, become light headed without realising and be more likely to trip. Or you might faint before you feel hungry. If you are not used to fasting and you do three days on just water /liquids I wouldn't be surprised if you did faint. I would hate for that to be at the top of the stairs or on the road side or something.
I'm not sure of you have other health worries, but you mentioned eye clinic I think???any case.....I just ask that you consider your body before the goal if needed..

Each time, I came out of hospital a lot less than my pre pregnancy weight..bonus!
Pre pregnancy I was a twig. During pregnancy I grew to the size of a space hopper.
During the last few months I remarked to OH that I was amazed I did not have stretch marks.
Shortly after giving birth I then commented that as I now had stretch marks they must have appeared during labour. He told me they had been there for some time but as my bump had grown to a size that meant below my tummy button was no longer visible to me, from above , he was not going to be the one to break the bad news and had kept shtum.0 -

I "diet" by not buying all the food I see that looks lovely .... I restrict myself in the supermarket, not once it's at home.
It's easier to turn away from 2 pies in the supermarket (2 for £2 deals) .... than to resist them once they're in the fridge.0 -
