I remember some strange, narrow, multi-floored house for sale somewhere in London on RM in the past. Many storeys, mostly stairs inside... and maybe black/white gothic looking.

I don't know if you would like Flann O'Brian's books (viva might like them as I think she likes Borges).

In the Third Policeman, the hero is looking for a police station and spots a lit window in a private house where everyone is asleep.

Turns out the police station is very narrow and its corridors rooms and stairs are secretly built into the thick walls inside the house.

I thought somebody'd know what I meant by now.... so I googled it. I was on about the Wren Tower / Christchurch Tower.

It was up for sale in 1985 for $400k (exchange rate then was about 1.2) and again in 2007 for £4million.

Patches of black ice on yard the morning. Kiwi running as if on high speed treadmill was hilarious.

Luckily he was finding it enjoyable too. He's not sensitive to being laughed at.

With our extension we may have two more bedrooms a kitchen 5 times larger 3 more bathrooms and an extra reception but the only bit that brings us real pleasure is the garage.....

Was that got to do wit kiwi on ice?

Why do you like your garage so much? That's interesting to me. We're thinking of keeping the garaging bit of our garage flexible, open or gate fronted rather than doors.

Because we drive out in a warm car and wave greetings to our neighbours who are scrapping their windscreens in coats and scarves or drive straight in whilst they run in with umbreallas :)

It does sound blissful in this weather.

Are you using one car in the garage or are you climbing out of the windows?

Am I remembering the right picture, with the two cars in the garage? Do you still have that? It was brilliant.
