Is there a way around that other than re-wiring which requires re-decorating or removing metal fitting?0 -

Oh and by the way, if you can read and DID read this thread, you will have seen the post where I DID thank all those that offered me advice, something you must have missed whilst you were looking for someone to have a go at.0 -
We just had it done for £179 supplied, fitted and certified from a yorkshire firm. They even installed a mains breaker after the meter and before the new board for free although it wasn't originally mentioned in quote. My wife had quotes between £350 and £540 when she shooed around then found an offer online. We were very cautious and sceptical as it seemed to good to be true but they did a great job so winner!0

Remove Class 1 (earthed) fittings and replace with Class 2 (double insulated)
Affix warning label to consumer units.A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.0 -

That sounds really good, we have been quoted approx £260 fitted by our electrician so I will bear it in mind, having other work done in the meantime so don't have to make a decision right away, but thanks for that. Can you send me the name of the company in a private message ?0
