I am a bad bad Mother!

I'm definitely the VERY worst mother....I forgot my 7 yr old's birthday.....suddenly realised in the evening and said to him "Why didn't you remind me???!?" and he answered with a phrase that has haunted me down the years (he is 45): "I thought you knew". I rushed him into the nearest town and because he was already a bit of a cheese gourmet, knocked on the door of a closed speciality shop, explained the crisis, and they were lovely to him. I still feel terrible about it - we make a big fuss about birthdays, flowers and candles on the table, choose their favourite meal, presents, the lot........0

I am normally super sad/organised and get them as soon as I see them in the shop. Then have a mad panic on the 30th November trying to remember which safe place I put them !!!0

1) yes you are an evil evil woman
or
2) No you have saved them from the most excruciating tooth decay they will have ever known. I trust that your adult teeth are easily able to cope with chocolate thus ridding your house of the evidence.

I buy my nieces 'proper' advent calendars, every couple of years, you know the kind that actually reflect Advent, have a baby Jesus picture inside and have no chocolate?0

I'm sure they're thrilled."There is no medicine like hope, no incentive so great, and no tonic so powerful as expectation of something better tomorrow." - Orison Swett Marden0 -
I'm sure they're thrilled.
Actually they really like them and get them out again for a couple of years until they get a bit tatty and then they get replacements. They also get the choccy kind from their parents. My point was that they're a good permanent standby and I'm sure others remember having them from being little!0
