I was worried about the seat depth. I realised, after someone posted here, that the sofa that I always avoided in my old shared house was the one with the shallow seats! Only just realised why.
However, I am perfectly happy with my Farley sofa. The "large" 3-seater is a small 3-seater - slightly smaller than some two seater sofas I've seen in otherr shops - but that's great, anything bigger would have dwarfed my room, whereas now I can fit in two compact 3-seaters and still have lots of living space left.
The sides are, apparently, fake leather. I cannot tell by looking at them, they look much the same as the real sstuff on top. But I am happy to have fake leather as one of these sides will be going right next to a radiator.
Very pleased, absolute bargain ...0 -

They are shallower then my previous, youve made me think now as there certainly doesnt seem to be the great difference i was expecting from the figures quoted. Hang on im going to measure. Yes they do actually measure 52cm compared to my previous which was 58cm i think it was. Certainly doesnt seem that amount of difference though. I think what it is, is because they are such a deep seat you dont notice it as much. I think you will be happy with them.
As the previous poster has said, although fake leather sides, you cant tell the difference. Its the same colour and texture and feel. Im perfectly happy with mine (and im not that easy to please!!). One little thing though and it is little although they are sending a replacement 2 seater because of it, even though ive said im happy to keep this one and see how it goes but they said best to change within 30 days otherwise someone comes out to repair. The 2 seater front corner seam from floor to arm seems as though the padding on the wood under the leather is not in place and the leather is directly on the wood which looks like it will come through in no time. Hope you know what im trying to say.
They are soooo comfy and such a bargain.0 -

Let us know what you think when you get them. Always nice to have someone elses opinion too.
DId you say when yours were coming Jet or dont you know yet?
Wish i could get decorating. We cant though (well we could but wouldnt make any sense) as we live in a council property and they are coming to rewire the whole house anytime so theres no point. Im keeping the material protectors for the sofas to help keep them clean when any work is being done. Not quite sure how messy its going to be but as they have got to channel all the walls out etc plus we have got all laminate floors upstairs which have got to be taken up so its going to be a nightmare :eek:0 -
No I haven't heard yet which is a good thing as I didn't quite get the decorating done/started this weekend!!!!!!!DEBT FREE 23/FEB/07 TWO YEAR's!! £2 £1020.00 Banked New total £268+ and counting SAVINGS 3000.00- ISA £30. :j0

Thanks everyone for the updates.
I am starting to get a bit worried about getting them through the door now. My front door is only 70cm wide, so I was relying on swinging them round vertically, with the leg end coming in first, if you see what I mean.
I understand that there is minimal assembly involved, does that only mean putting the legs on, or is there anything else, that would reduce the dimensions and make it likely to fit in.0 -
I am getting worried about them fitting through the door but they will have to bring them round the back if they won't go through the front. I did ask on the phone if they brought them into the house and they said they do.
I am also getting worried about the sizes of them. I ordered a 3 and a 2. Now thinking I should have ordered two 3's.0 -
Yes i know what you mean about them going in legs first. From what they have said they seem to get the 'not fit through the door 'at most houses, which when you see the boxes you will know why. WHen they are out the boxes though they are easy enough to get through the door like that.
Pingua, yes they will bring them in the house but are supposed to only do it if they fit through the door inthe boxes. I have to say i think the idea behind it is great (environmentally friendly cardboard boxes instead of polythene) but the practicalities (spelling?) of it are a different matter. A normal door just would not allow the turn needed for them to fit in the boxes. Lets just hope everyone has some nice friendly delivery men who are prepared to take them out the boxes and bring them in for you.
Dont know why but when we got them first delivered they didnt smell that much of leather but the smell now seems to be coming out. I just love that smell. BUt then i also sniff catalogues madly when they are first new cos i think they smell yummy  Did i really just admit that to everyone!! My partner calls me a weirdo for doing that.0
