    Hi
The crucial site is a great find, but I am confused. I have a dell dimension 2400, its only got 128mb ram and is very slow, so having spent half a day on the dell support site, it concluded I need a ram upgrade, I ws told max for machine was 1gb, however crucial site sayes 1gb for each slot.
Dell also told me I need ddr sdram, but crucial site is offering ddr, is this the same thing?

The crucial site is quite full of errors and is not to be trusted, the best thing to do is to research your Motherboard specs and then you will get a true reading, I have informed crucial on several occasions about errors and yet they are still their  the reason for the errors is usally down to the export of Motherboards, as the US market usually get a higher spec Mobo so you could have two machines one for UK one for US and the site will only list the US spec because its a US site and they are a bit lazy with their research.

    Thanks.

I checked PC World today, just to see if they had any offers etc on RAM and I had forgotten, or rather hoped it had changed from previous visits, that they are a bunch of incompetent fools.

    Ebuyer here I come!

I won't be buying from Packard Bell though! They want £57.99 for 256mb!!!

Of course not. It was simply to confirm the specification and to obtain part numbers. You can use the part number to find cheaper generic memory and to be sure of compatibilty.

Well, i'm going to try Ebuyer and see what happens. I'm in no rush, so the super saver option is fine for me:T

    Okay....hopefully not a huge issue...

    Ordered the RAM, fine...

Just tracked the order...City Link are delivering.

What happens if i'm not in?

I ask, because I asked for Super Saver and have paid for that, but the tracking says delivery is tomorrow and I won't be in for part of the day.

Had they chosen Royal Mail, it's 5 minutes up the road, but i'm not sure where City Link would take the package too, as we don't have one in my town.

    Thanks for any help.

What happens to my order if I am not in when the courier attempts to deliver it?

If you are not in when our courier attempts delivery they will leave a calling card which will provide you with a direct contact number for your local depot. You then simply call them to arrange an alternative delivery date or to collect the parcel directly from your local depot, which they will be more than happy to help you with.

Thanks Chippy - I was looking at the City Link site instead and couldn't find it.

Bed for me...I hope I will be in when it arrives, so will be up at 8am, just incase they come early, although i'm guessing that will be saved for customers who paid for that service.
