I know , I know , i should agree with you. It is repetitious and the same points have been applicable for a decade or more now; and yet..and yet.. I still find it hugely entertaining.
I think it must be the ' schadenfreude' of seeing the neverending failure of such an intolerant yet bombastic and dogmatic group.
If they were a little more open to dissenting voices it would be easier to commiserate, after all , we all make the wrong call sometimes, but then ,if they listened to other views they probably wouldn't be where they are now.
Their gift just keeps on giving.
Yep, it is human nature to empathise with people (apart from the hubris, nihilistic sociopaths that run the country and most large businesses) and feel sorry for them, with a there but for the grace of god attitude.
But they actually were quite happy to see people suffer and go into negative equity etc. So that little mean streak comes out, thinking, I know they read this forum, just like some from here go over there to read it.
So, hi to all HPC readers. Like I've always said, they're waiting for a house price crash, so that they can take advantage of someone else's misery. I wonder how they would like it, if they purchased and 24 months later, we'd had another house price crash and they had 30% negative equity?0 -

Ah, and sod anyone else who may be taken in, you mean?0 -

Surely anyone who gets "taken in" by a bunch of muppets on HPC deserves it?
Unless you live in an isolated cave, all of us get 'information' across the spectrum.....
Buy a house - don't buy a house.
Buy gold - sell gold.
Bitcoin will make you rich - Bitcoin is a bubble.
Save for retirement - live now and spend it all in case you die.
The economy is improving - we're all doomed.
Vote Conservative - Vote Labour - Vote UKIP - Vote Green
Education is improving - We're the thicko's of the Western World.
Fracking is our saviour - Fracking is our ruin.
There is a god - there isn't any god.
Elvis is dead - Elvis is alive.
I tend to make my own mind up. [Although I am rather convinced that Elvis is working in a Sheffield Chip Shop....]0 -
The reason people ridicule hpc.co.uk on here is because a lot of us used to post over there and then were banned with no warning simply for disagreeing with (what used to be a minority) of tin foil hats. Knowing that the hpc banners haunt the forums of Moneysaving Expert like desperate hungry ghosts searching silently for the tiniest morsels of house price crash; it is quite entertaining to give them a gentle ribbing.

I would say (IMHO) now is not a bad time to launch a HPC forum.
When house prices jump 5% in a month you know we are nearing the top of a bubble!!
Shame the HPC forum got it spectacularly wrong!!! (as I may well do admittedly)0 -
Well prices have dropped 54% in Northern Ireland and just turned positive on an annual basis last quarter.
This year has been a good year with no negative quarters. It looks like things are turning.
However, the bears seem to think that picking out single properties that have had their asking prices reduced is enough evidence to prove that the crash ain't over yet. :rotfl:

Really don't think so for London, it's just going to be a wavy line that on average doubles every ten years like it always has since the Second World War.
Obviously be prepared for the line to be wavy though.Proudly voted remain. A global union of countries is the only way to commit global capital to the rule of law.0 -

Tee hee.
That's the truth.
I bet RCS news have banjaxed them hahaWe love Sarah O Grady0 -
I love going across to HPC ..... I got banned for suggesting that the property market was about to recover.
And it did, and has done for 18 months now - certainly where I live.
They make me chuckle, and I find it strangely addictive, their more and more desperate attempts to find the news they want in the news they are seeing ...... they have sold their houses, rented for a long time, made their families live in someones else's house, for what? A massive loss and no chance to re-enter the market where they left it.
Add to that the fact that their savings have been ravaged by inflation and very low interest rates ....... they are angry, depressed, sad and a very lonely voice these days.
Give them a break .... they've had it really bad ......... nah, sod it, go over there and laugh at their stupidity
