On a brighter note Mr. Hbbb has just gone to the Mr M shop to get his petrol and paper along with a couple of quid to hunt me down another Passion flower ... thanks P*P!

Ok, technically a want not need, but is our reward to selves for a pants week on the finance and career fronts - especially as we didn't buy any kind of bottle for a Friday night cheer up, remarkable restraint in fact ... especially as we do need a bit of cheer! :o

Well done to Mr Hbbb, for being such a hero! :T:T:T

Does he have his mask and boots ready for next week?

When it was clear to me a few years ago that my department was being targetted, I was on the job sites daily! I was even considering retraining to drop down to primary but keeping my MFL specialism. It turned out to not be necessary, but gave me a sense of being more in control, and of actually having a choice.

Hope you guys have a lovely time together this weekend, with your hairdo lettuces and passion flowers :D.

How would you retrain for primary?

I already do some y5 and y6. I was going to look at the new primary changes and 'do a course'! Of course I haven't had to find out if this simplistic view is too simplistic yet... And I only work part-time, so finding work for that amount of time is much less onerous than filling a full-time timetable.

I would foresee a drop in income for the first year as I got known and accepted in local primary schools. But there are 5 of them within walking distance, so I was hopeful someone would employ me...! Simply put, teaching in 30 minute slots across the classes, might 'do' a school in 1 day. And having the secondary perspective would be a plus, especially for the KS2 kiddies.

Ahh do you mean as a peripatetic / freelance languages teacher? There's quite a demand for that kind of thing round here where schools want to be able to offer something different, as all the local schools seem to be rolling over to becoming academies ... not sure how high MFL is on their agenda - if it's not a core subject it's getting booted in secondary quicker than you can think of an end to the following sentence "Michael Gove is a ..."

Ta for your support of Mr. Hbbb, it's appreciated x

Hope everyone is OK. Weird weather day all round ... turned out fabulous in the end! Question is ... which of you ended up with the storms? It wasn't here (South East coast).

    ;)MFW actions:

NSD as Mr. M didn't have any passion fruit plants! So nowt out but sadly still nowt in either!

    SMASH day 7 = £ 100 / £ 3,000 :o

    :( Grey Clouds:

Not thinking about that ... by hook or by crook today is a blue skies day!

    :) Silver lining:

Had a lovely long chat today, Mr. Hbbb and I about options if the new broom sweeps him off his feet - and not in a romantic way! It was good because it came about really unexpectedly, it wasn't like we had a "we need to talk about this ..." moment. At least we know we're on the same page and he's already expressed how glad he is that I'm already taking steps (the whole MFW thing). At least we know that however skint we end up, we'll be OK together over it all.

    :pDaily Declutter:

4 items out of garage and passed on to others or put into recycling; pile of Mr. Hbbb's papers sorted through and recycled = 5 more items to bring total to 169 / 365

    :DSimple Pleasures:

    * Bit of gardening
    * Getting 2 loads of washing dried on line when I'd been expecting it to rain all day

    :rotfl: Simply mad:

Elderly neighbour stopped by to chat when we were faffing in front garden. He proudly told us he was 87 last week, so Mr. Hbbb politely asked him what the secret of looking so youthful on it is. To which this elderly gent (very distinguished) looked him straight in the eye and said:
    "I don't drink, I don't smoke, but I swear like a F***ing trooper"
Not often Mr. Hbbb is lost for words, but I think that did it!

Have a restful evening all x
